About the adventure
The world is broken. Kingdom after kingdom has fallen beneath endless legions of fiends, undead, and corrupted beasts. Now, only one city stands unbowed — Luminara, a shining fortress raised upon ancient magic and unyielding resolve. Behind its towering walls and radiant wards, the last free peoples endure. Soldiers keep tireless watch, refugees crowd the streets, and every soul within the city is a survivor of a world that once knew peace. Beyond Luminara’s defenses, the land is consumed by eternal war, and the storm of darkness presses closer with every passing day. 🔹The Campaign Style This campaign merges drop-in West Marches–style one-shots, where characters keep their progress and rewards, with an optional persistent bastion-building and play-by-post system that lets players leave a lasting mark on the world. Players can play as often as they like with no obligation to play in future games. 🔹First Time Playing? My goal with this game is to create an expansive campaign that casual players can hop into and leave as often as they like. You don’t need to read any of my extra rules. If you’re enjoying the sessions and want to invest more time in your character, this campaign offers many optional ways to dive deeper into the world. You can advance through the rank system, take part in play-by-post battles, use tools and resources to craft equipment, and invest in the bastion system by creating your own organization with a physical presence in the setting. 🔹My Ai Tool Policy I make use of a variety of tools to create the best game experience possible, including AI-assisted tools in several capacities. When possible, I prefer to support artists directly through commissions and the purchase of their work, and my games are packed with beautiful maps and artwork from these talented individuals. I share this policy openly so players who prefer to avoid games that use AI can make an informed decision before joining, and so expectations are clear from the start. The story, mechanics, and battles are all original creations, shaped by my own ideas and years of experience as a Dungeon Master.

Additional information can be found on my Discord, but here is character creation at a glance 🔹Characters will be created in DNDBeyond 🔹Start at Level 15 (2024 Rules) 🔹Use Standard Array or Point Buy for stats 🔹Most 3rd party content is permitted 🔹Gear will include starting equipment and 2 magic items of rare or uncommon rarity 🔹Characters can pick one free set of tools they are proficient in outside of the starting equipment.

What Dim Dee Emm brings to the table
I provide a story-driven campaign set in a living world, with clear stakes and meaningful choices that shape Luminara’s survival. Players can expect a mix of tactical combat, narrative roleplay, and skill challenges, with Expeditions designed as focused missions and Directives driving larger consequences. I use light character voices, evocative descriptions, and ambient music to set the tone, prioritizing narrative-driven encounters without slowing play. I generally follow the rules as written, but I’m always open to the "Rule of Cool" when it enhances the story, keeps the game fun, and feels fair to everyone at the table.
Homebrew rules
All my Homebrew rules are listed on my Discord, but a few examples that will be implemented in this game are... 🔹Sanctuary Rest Variant Characters can only benefit from a "long rest" in the city of Luminara or special safe areas. The rules for Sleep and Short Rests function normally. 🔹Flanking When a creature and at least one of its allies are on opposite sides of an enemy, and both are able to attack it, each flanking creature gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls against that enemy. 🔹Battle Knowledge Once per combat, a character may make a History, Arcana, Religion, or Nature check, the skill being dependent on the creature's type and DC equal to the creature’s CR, to learn one piece of information about a creature’s stat block (no action required).

How Dim Dee Emm creates a safe table
Players are always encouraged to reach out to me if they have concerns about content they would prefer to avoid. My Discord outlines the expectations and table rules, and I do not intentionally include controversial or harmful subject matter in my games. My goal is for everyone to feel welcome, comfortable, and respected at the table. D&D should be a place where we can set aside real-world problems and enjoy a shared, friendly game together.
