Hello, This is Vax'ildan Wagner, Creator & DM of Blackenforge! We are a Dungeons and Dragons content brand creating all kinds of TTRPG content ranging from Instagram memes, DND twitch live streams and YouTube reruns! I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons since I was twelve years old! I've played and ran countless stories in countless campaigns, and I even created my own homebrew during the Covid-19 quarantine months of 2020. Character creation

Creating your character

We'll have a session zero as a team, talk about classes so there's not a ton of overlap. Everyone gets to be their own hero with their own powers! We'll be rolling stats, rolling health, and establishing connections a bit before the first session.

What Vax brings to the table

I will do my very best with character voices, ambient music, tough combats that are still fun, and Rule of Cool! There are some table rules we'll be mixing in with the RAW game.

Homebrew rules

DEATH SAVING THROWS Death saving throws are like any other saving throws. You can add bardic inspiration to them, Paladin aura effects can affect them, and you can even use your inspiration tokens on them! BUT... they are ALWAYS rolled in secret. The only people that can see the result are the DM and the Player rolling it. On top of that, conditions that are on a character affect the roll as if it was an ability check or saving throw. Poisoned, for example, would give you disadvantage on death saving throws. As a second part to this rule, if you fail three death saving throws and die, the DM rolls a d12 to determine the willingness of Death in resurrection rituals (using Critical Role standard rules). On a 1-3, your soul cannot be brought back to life with anything less than a raise dead spell. On a 4-6, your soul waits normally for a revivify or whatever resurrection spell is headed your way. On a 7-9, you instead drop to 1 HP and continue fighting. (If you go unconscious and die a second time and the DM rolls a 7-9 again, you drop to 1 HP but also gain a level of exhaustion.) On a 10-12, you gain half your HP back, and you recover a combined level of spell slots that is equal to half your level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th Level or higher. MECHANIC CHANGES Perfect Crits. Natural 20 attack rolls gain a perfect condition! When rolling damage, you max out the damage (not including modifiers). Then, you roll damage normally (including modifiers) and add up the total! Note: if an ability that cancels critical hits is applied, the attack still hits, but the damage is rolled normally - not with the perfect condition. Attunement. Short and sweet: it doesn't take an hour to attune to an item. It takes one action to attune to an item, BUT it takes a minute to unattune to said item. Sendings. If you feel that 25 words is not enough for a casting of Sending, you are not alone! Sending now has no word limit - just make sure to fit everything in one minute!

How Vax creates a safe table

We'll do a brief, anonymous quiz on lines and veils! During game we'll verbally ask to stop or pause, as we're online and it's hard to give space for certain needs at times. I aim for everyone to be comfortable and happy during the games!
