About the adventure
This is a STAR WARS: FORCE AND DESTINY game set in the Old Republic era, 3000 years before the events of the Phantom Menace. The uneasy truce which has existed between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic is disintegrating and open war is spreading across the galaxy. In the midst of this chaos, your master, Darth Moebius, smells opportunity. He has summoned you, his most talented acolytes and agents, to engineer the downfall of his hated rival. He cannot be implicated in this task, of course, so it is vital you act with ruthless discretion. Succeed at this task, and he will raise you up and grant you glory, riches, and power that you could only dream of. Fail him, and he will destroy you.

About me
Hi! My name is Zara Bamford and I live in Chicago, IL, with my partner and our adorable little monster of a cat. I’m passionate about history, comic books, medieval fantasy, science-fiction, and cooking. I’ve been DM’ing professionally for over three years on the convention circuit and have run D&D 5th Edition, Arkham Horror, and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire at major conventions like Gencon, Gamehole Con, and Pax Unplugged on behalf of Asmodee. I got my start in tabletop gaming with Warhammer 40,000, and spent countless hours hunched over kitchen tables and patios in my youth waging epic battles with plastic and metal figurines, but I always craved something more than just tactical combat - I wanted narrative, an epic adventure to accompany awesome battles. I wouldn't start truly DM'ing till college however, where I started a Rogue Trader campaign for my friends which continues to this day!

Creating your character
You can play any extant species for the Old Republic. If you want to play a species which appeared later in the continuity, such as an Anzellan or Evereni, that's also allowed! If you're playing a Sith Acolyte, you'll start play with 300 earned experience, which can be spent on anything except raising your characteristics. You might also wish to play as a non-force sensitive character, such as an Imperial Intelligence agent, a feared bounty hunter, or some other addition to a Dark Lord's network. In that case, start play with 350 earned experience. To make a Sith Acolyte character you can either manually edit a pdf using a free in-browser tool like Kami, or you can message me on discord for a zip file which will let you import the Sith class into hyperdrivegenerator. Once you have your character sheet made and a concept in mind, please send it to me over discord!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Greetings, my young apprentice. To embark on this adventure you will need to download Discord and join our server https://discord.gg/PDXx7jcdQ7. I'd also recommend downloading the guest version of TaleSpire from steam, as we'll use it for some of our combat and exploration sequences.
What Zara brings to the table
Signing up for this game is a hyperspeed jump to a special cinematic experience where your decisions and actions will shape the story that we tell and the world your characters inhabit - a world of political intrigue, mystical threats, and constant danger. You can expect tactically demanding combat along with intense roleplaying and high stakes, character-driven action as you pursue power and forbidden knowledge. I will make use of sound effects, voice changers, and soundtracks when appropriate. I'll also work with you to create a unique 3D model for your character in Heroforge, which I'll import to the VTT we'll use for combat and exploration.
Homebrew rules
We will use the Force and Destiny rules as written for the most part. Occasionally I will offer you extra conflict in response to acts of extreme moral character, such as going out of your way to help someone with no expectation of a tangible reward, or tormenting someone for absolutely no reason at all.

How Zara creates a safe table
This campaign will make use of Lines and Veils and a Red Card/Yellow Card system to keep everyone at the table safe. Lines are things we don’t ever want to see in the campaign, while Veils can be referenced but not witnessed or played out directly. If you’d like a scene to stop immediately, say or type “Red Card” or hold a red card up to the camera, and we will end the scene and retcon what happened. If you would like the intensity of the scene lowered or altered, without having it end entirely, you can say or type “Yellow Card” or likewise hold up an actual yellow card to the camera. I will never ask you to explain why you want something Red or Yellow carded.
