About the adventure

Drawn into a realm where the fog itself watches and waits, your party finds itself trapped within the gloomy, oppressive land of Barovia. Ruled by the enigmatic and terrible Count Strahd von Zarovich, Barovia is a prison where forests whisper secrets you can’t quite hear, villages brood under shadowed skies, and every path seems to lead deeper into dread. Here, survival is never assured. The Devil Strahd — cunning, ancient, and ever-watchful — stalks both the living and the lost. Escape is a dream; victory a distant hope. You’ll explore haunted hamlets, confront restless spirits and twisted monsters, and uncover dark truths about the land… and perhaps about yourselves. Your choices will shape your fate and the fate of Barovia.

About me

Greetings Adventurers! My name is Zac. I'm an audiobook narrator (https://zacnarrates.com/) as well as a professional GM. (So, yes, expect lots of silly voice acting!) I played D&D 3.5 back in high school and then got back into D&D in 2017 after being inspired by Critical Role. Since then I've logged thousands of hours behind the GM screen running games for friends, family, local games stores, and professional games online. I love integrating character backstories into my games, collaborating on worldbuilding, and going off the rails! So, if you're looking for a group that's as much about role play as it is about dungeon crawling, this is the place for you.

Character creation

Creating your character

I allow any officially published material into my games. Generally, we are using the 2024 rules. If there's something from 2014, UA, or homebrew that you want to use please talk to me first and I'll make a decision on a case-by-case basis. For character attributes, please use either the standard array or 27 point buy. Starting equipment is either standard as listed in the PHB or you can take the average gold amount (ie, fighter gets 5d4 x 10 = 5 x 2.5 x 10 = 125 GP).

What to expect
