About the adventure
Ravenhome is a peaceful town nestled in the valley of Ravensdale and isolated from the rest of the world. Here people live a quiet life, hunting, fishing and farming mostly barley and apples and celebrating the turning of the seasons. It is early spring, or maybe you'd call it late winter. The sap is running and the folk are tapping, just like we do this time every year. But this year isn't like every year. Something deep and ancient is stirring far away. And it's getting closer. This is a beginner-friendly campaign from the book Hearts of Ravensdale to introduce you to to the system and the setting. We will weave character backstories, interests and relationships into the story to create our own unique version of it. This campaign can stand alone or launch into an epic later as the players choose.

About me
I'm a geeky gamer mom who loves a good story. I run wholesome, accessible, PG-13 games from a variety of systems. I prefer fantasy and horror settings and love to run a good mystery or heist. Players under 18 are permitted at my tables if an adult family member is also playing and the rest of the table agrees. Please talk to me ahead of time about this. I am committed to making my games accessible! Please let me know what your needs are and I will do my very best to accommodate them.

Creating your character
We will spend the first half of our Session 0 creating characters and their relationships and world building. You will have access to materials and discussion in Discord ahead of time so you can start plotting. Pre-generated characters are available if that is easier for you. We will keep track of our characters and world changes in a spreadsheet on Google Meet as well is in notes on Discord
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need to head over the Discord to get started plotting and planning.
What Morningbird brings to the table
I will guide you through the game, explain how to play and create your roleplay environment. I will weave your own character's goals, relationships and background into our own unique version of the story outlined in the book.
Homebrew rules
We'll be using the rules as written unless we find ourselves in the situation the rules don't cover. My homebrew rule is that we can only bend as far as we don't infringe into a situation that could have happened if you had made different choices at some point- because I don't think it's fair to people who do make that choice to just make it not matter. I hope that makes sense. (It's really a D&D rule- there is a spell/feat/etc. for that and you don't have it), this game is much more flexible.

How Morningbird creates a safe table
This came may contain violent themes/roleplay/imagery involving animals and humans. Players are expected to keep roleplay themes and language safe for work/PG-13. We will discuss Lines and Veils prior to and during Session 0. A list will always be available in the Discord. We will utilize in-game safety tools in case something unexpected arises.
