About me
Hello! My name is Justin, and I’ve been running tabletop RPGs as a Game Master for nearly 15 years. I began hosting casual games with friends right after high school as a way for us to stay connected while starting our adult lives in college and work. RPGs quickly became a meaningful way for me to help people socialize, bond, and create unforgettable moments—and that passion has only grown. In recent years, I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone to Dungeon Master at events like Playthrough Gaming Convention in Raleigh, and I’m excited to continue expanding into new conventions and opportunities. When I’m not behind the GM screen, I’m diving into other fantasy and sci-fi worlds. I’m a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson, Star Trek, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy, so my imagination draws from a wide range of settings and inspirations that often spill into my sessions. I love crafting fun, lighthearted adventures that make players laugh, relax, and feel at home. My philosophy is simple: we’re here to share a great story, and my job is to make sure you leave with a smile and memorable moments you’ll want to tell your friends and coworkers about. Gaming should always be a fun, safe space, and I’m committed to creating the best possible experience for everyone who joins my table.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done as a free Session 0 to allow players to meet and get a chance to build there characters as a group. We will talk about the themes of the setting, learn about player actions and party composition and work to balance the group to best support each other for the campaign to come. All Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition rules are welcome. We will be using the 2014 version (Legacy on D7D Beyond) for this adventure as it's the most printed version and allows for all legacy content. We will be using Roll20 as our online Tabletop of choice. All extended content for characters is welcome!

What Justin brings to the table
In my campaigns, I love to give characters voices when possible. This means that there will be times for silly adlibbed moments where players can improv with the NPCs and create fun and interesting moments. As this is a Beginner Friendly campaign, the goal is to teach, learn and grow as a group. It will be a safe space to ask questions, make mistakes while having fun! Players can expect the game to shape around their decisions and stray away from the written model if it means expanding their lore, stories, or taking a break from the main plot. I will not railroad the players to sticking to the book as written and will allow time to create new stories or NPCs if that is enjoyable to the group. I will do my best to keep things moving and allow everyone time in the spotlight so not one person determines the story for everyone. I like to run games with "Rule of Cool" in mind. This means if there is a moment that would be more fun at the cost of ignoring or changing a rule, I will lean on that. This also means that if there are times when rules are confusing or don't make sense, we will adjust it to keep the game moving forward.
Homebrew rules
I do not have any specific homebrew rules I start a session with, but if there are rules that we want to adapt to better serve the player or story we can discuss it.

Safety
How Justin creates a safe table
Sessions will allow players to use the X, N & O system at any time during the game session without question from the Dungeon Master. Players can also call out if a moment in the Campaign is uncomfortable, privately with the DM in messages, without judgment, and it will be added into session prep to edit or avoid any strong themes throughout the game. There will always be time for breaks to allow players to stretch and take a moment during the game. At the end of each session, there will be a check-in with players to talk about the adventure as a whole or how the game went. This will allow everyone to find things they enjoyed, things that can be better, or things that the DM or other players may need to avoid, as it made for unfair or uncomfortable moments
