About the adventure

This is an introductory game for women, femme presenting and non binary folks to try their hand at D&D in a safe and inclusive environment. A light hearted and silly setting that will allow you to get to grips with the basics of role playing, combat, and getting to know Dungeons and Dragons. This game is hosted by Steph from Gals & Pals, a TTRPG community based in Cornwall, UK, that has been running games and events for women and femmes for over a year now.

About me

Hi I'm Steph! I've been palying TTRPGs for about 8 years and GMing on and off for 5. Mostly experienced with D&D 5e but have been branching out in the last few years and play in a weekly Starfinder stream on Dragonborn Industries. Last year I was invited to run some one shots for my local games cafe and offered the opportunity to pitch anything else I wanted. I immediately said I wanted to run some games for women and femme presenting folks and create a safe space to learn, play, and develop community. I thought we'd get about 3 sessions and be done but Gals & Pals has grown exponentially. In the past year we've held at least one game a month, hosted an event raising money for a women's charity, held socials, have an active discord, and had to bring in another GM to assist with themed specials. We are about to launch our online mini campaign and widen the net for accessibility and opportunity. Hence my application for Start Playing. I want to be able to make the Gals & Pals experience more accessible to all members of the community by offering online games to take away the difficulty that some people find in getting to a physical location.

What Gals & Pals brings to the table

Steph (she/they) is a professional GM and actual play performer with eight years experience. With a background in theatre and education, she thrives on fostering a creative and collaborative environment for her players. You can expect accents and voices and whilst rules are there as guidelines, she’s not adverse to a bit of rule of cool!

Homebrew rules

For this game we will be mostly sticking to D&D 2024 rules, with the addition of critical hits causing max damage plus a roll.
