About the adventure

If you've ever been frustrated with having to break character to do math, Enclave is calling your name! Enclave is a diceless TTRPG that takes 10 minutes to learn and offers endless variety. The Enclave is a vast, secretive organization with nearly limitless reach within the infinitely varied world of Manifold. Agents are sent to every region to solve problems for the Enclave’s clients. One mission could be rescuing crew aboard a crashing spaceship, and the next could be helping an ancient society come to terms with a dying deity. Everything is resolved narratively; combat (when it happens) is fast and smooth, and consistent role play is rewarded in-game. Agents are fast to create and missions are generally one-shots, although long-form play and recurring locations are also supported. This listing is for a general one-shot; players submit “focus words” ahead of time (a word, phrase, image, or song) around which the GM builds the mission. Every mission is different! The team convenes at HQ, learns about the mission, asks questions, and gets teleported to the site. Think you can walk a mile in an Agent’s shoes? Sign up and try out this fantastic system!

About me

Welcome! I'm DM Lacara, from the DM Roundtable on YouTube and the Enclave Discord server. I've played TTRPGs for 15 years, and have been DMing a full homebrew world 5e campaign for almost 2 years. These days, I prefer running Enclave missions: ask me about the system! I love light-hearted, cozy settings with lots of fun side quest potential, allowing my players to explore and bond without a sense of impending doom. Epic stories don't have to be stressful stories, and character development doesn't have to imply trauma; join my table and leave refreshed!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be handled at the beginning of the session: this is a very rapid process that takes 10 minutes per player. NOTE: character death is listed as a warning in the safety section because it is not uncommon for one or more agents to die in a mission. It is never my aim as the GM, and there are mechanics that prevent characters from running into an *unexpected* death, but character death is permanent in Enclave. There is no resurrection, if your agent dies they cannot be used again. However, as I said there are no surprise deaths; players get ample warning and opportunity to escape before death is imminent. Death is a narrative choice made by the player.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The only prep necessary is the submission of a focus word (see above description) at least 24 hours before the game start time.

What Lacara brings to the table

I value creating rich worlds, and facilitating the spontaneous moments of goofiness and excitement that only collective storytelling can create. I try to make the most compelling and lifelike spaces possible, so every mission feels real, urgent, and meaningful. What TO expect: - Humor, always, and quite possibly bad guys with very silly names - A world you'd like to spend a lot of time/live in - Memorable recurring NPCs What NOT to expect: - A game you can't talk about in front of your mom/kids/younger siblings - Horror (spooky settings may occur sometimes, but no gore or really dark themes) - Adult situations (keep it PG-13 or else, zero tolerance policy)

Safety

How Lacara creates a safe table

My games are universally PG-13 and I stay away from dark themes in general. However, if anyone has a topic or theme that does not fall into an obvious category (e.g., a fear of carrots), please let me know when you submit your focus word. Player aggression is not allowed in-game or at the table. I have a zero tolerance policy on this, and anyone who I deem to be acting in an uncivil manner will be removed from the game.
