About the adventure

The Delian Tomb is a starter adventure for MCDM's flagship TTRPG, Draw Steel. Heroic, Tactical, Cinematic, Fantasy. Those are the guiding principles of the game's design, and I for one am Here For It. This adventure is perfect for players who have never played Draw Steel, or even any TTRPG at all! It slowly and steadily teaches players how to play a brand-new game, all while presenting a new-and-improved version of Matt Colville's classic starter dungeon for D&D, The Delian Tomb. But in Draw Steel, you feel like a hero from day one. This adventure bills itself as around 30 hours of play, but the amount of freedom the players have means it could be shorter or longer than that by a few sessions. As a big fan of D&D, I can say that hands-down Draw Steel is about to usurp its place as Favorite TTRPG in my book. I hope you'll join me and give it a try!

About me

Greetings, traveler. I am Cruxien, an american writer, musician, and game master. I have been running a TTRPG session *at least* once a week since early 2016. I love GMing, especially for new players who are discovering these games for the first time. Character creation

Creating your character

We will be using pre-generated characters for this adventure! Since this is designed to teach you the game, these special characters are set up to walk you through the mechanics of the game before introducing new things to worry about. If you end up liking Draw Steel and want to play in one of my long-term campaigns, we'll make a character together for that!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need: - A mic - A space to play with minimal background noise - A laptop or PC - A Discord account - Some dice; two D10s and 1 D6. If you don't have these, that's ok; Our virtual table will have virtual dice available too. This adventure is designed for brand-new players, so that really is all you need!

What Cruxien, Orange Wizard brings to the table

I personally like to do voices for NPCs, but you don't have to speak in-character if you don't want to! It's totally fine to speak in third-person ("my character explains x"). This game is tactical, but the adventure has a tutorial section, so you won't be in over your head immediately! By the time the first session is over, you'll probably know if this game is right for you. I'm always available to answer any questions during the session and I'm happy to stick around for a bit afterwards too!

Safety

How Cruxien, Orange Wizard creates a safe table

I'll be sending all new players a form - This gives me information on each player's level of comfort with different topics, which I use to tailor the game experience to meet everyone's needs. X, N & O cards are used through private messaging - Feel free to Discord message me at any time during the session or afterward. We will also be taking a break at the halfway point of each session!
