About the adventure
This is a very enjoyable official pathfinder module with all the bells and whistles that brings as a group of adventurers delve the depths of an ancient dungeon to figure out what the heck is happening and hopefully save the small village of Otari in the process. Is the overall plot rather simple? Yes, but in that simplicity lies ample freedom for player choice and good old fashioned roleplaying. It's a great intro to the game for those getting started as well as a fun romp through various scenarios that only get weirder as the dungeon gets deeper for those with more experience. Will you fight your way through labyrinthine rooms on a tidal wave of blood? Will you play it smart and look to the past for salvation? Or will you play the diplomancer and see if the monsters truly do just want to talk? Maybe you'll do all three?

About me
I'm an 18 year rpg veteran, I cut my teeth on DnD 3.5 and am currently parked firmly in the Pathfinder camp. I adore homebrewing my own worlds and using better systems than I could have come up with to bring them to life, that said I've also had a grand time using pre-built modules and seeing how the work of far more professional people than I meshes with my own. I like to try and cater my worlds to my players so at the very least a short meet n greet is appreciated. I work best when I can tell that others are getting to the same level of investment that I have - and to do that I have to know what you want out of the whole experience. I've run games with vets who are just looking for a solid bought of escapist fun and I've run games with total newbies who aren't quite certain what RPG stands for. I freely admit that my mapmaking skills are in desperate need of work and this is a weakness that I plan to address, it comes of playing far too many physical games and having to spin the world together with words alone - but there's wisdom in the saying that a picture is worth a thousand of those and in the interests of sparing my vocal chords just a little bit of the torment and having an actual combat grid to figure out where the heck characters even are I have a lovely roll20 account which I have used on many an occasion with great success and Foundry, which is better - if less reliable. I look forward to meeting you all. Mataspore

Creating your character
I start every single campaign I run with a free session 0 where things like character creation and party synergy can be discussed. As with pretty much all official Paizo adventure paths there is a free players guide that gives all the information you need to know come the start of the campaign and offers some thematic backgrounds which I shall pin in the discord chat once we get started.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a free forge account, access to discord, a working microphone and a decent internet connection. There will be a discord server link provided once the campaign has been joined.
What Andrew / Mataspore brings to the table
I do attempt to give characters appropriate voices and I do utilise ambient music. I like to get a good sense for the party before we start anything - hence the free session 0 - so I can change up my style of running things to best suit everyone involved. I've run games where the roleplaying went so deep we had to wait for session 2 to leave the starting room and I've played games all about those wonderful crunchy numbers. Basically I am prepared to be as invested in a character as a player is - the more you can give me the more I can give you. That said I very much have a penchant for the good old rule of cool and I'm not above bending rules to make stuff work if it will be awesome/funny enough
Homebrew rules
This will be discussed in session 0 but so far I have used examples of: Free Archetype, Ancestral Paragon, Gradual Bonus Progression, Automatic Bonus Progression and Keeley's Hero Dice. I also tend to roll on a critical fumble table for enemies but not player characters.

How Andrew / Mataspore creates a safe table
Session 0 is where I will ask several questions about expectations and experience - as well as letting everyone know that if there is any subject they would rather not see raised they are free to privately message me outside of the group chat. I also hold a mix of aftercare and debriefing after each session concludes and am always available to listen to criticism or concerns.
