About the adventure

"Dune: Wormsong" is set in Frank Herbert's acclaimed novel and series: Dune. The campaign is set two centuries before the birth of Paul Atreides and his rise as Muad'dib. It is a game of political intrigue and horror, of betrayal, drama, love, and mysticism; and you are at the center of it all. Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn more about the system and the setting, or an experienced Dune enthusiast, this campaign welcomes you! You are all members of a house vying for control of Arrakis, but you are not the only ones: the house who controls the desert planet is the richest, most influential of them all, and many among the Imperium would do things far worse than outright murder to be the ones to control the flow of spice across the Known Universe. It is not only the politics of the Imperium, plots of Bene Gesserit sisterhood, the greed of the Spacing Guild and CHOAM that you must worry about though. Arrakis belongs to the Fremen, and to the sandworms that control the dunes of the planet. Amidst it all, mysterious and confusing reports from the desert begin to arrive: a call beckons soldiers, nobles, and even witches to the depths, never to be seen again. Will the so called Wormsong claim you as well? What even is it? Only you can find out...

About me

Hello! Nice meeting you! I am a writer, translator, a storyteller and a budding content creator. I have been into tabletop games for three years and have been running games professionally for about the same time. I'm pretty experienced when it comes to World of Darkness games, especially Vampire: The Masquerade, Hunter: The Reckoning and Werewolf: The Apocalypse, having run multiple games in these splats. In terms of D&D, it has been always a passion that I followed through one-shots and friend games, but I decided it was finally time to delve into the community and start running longer games. I'm well-versed in the system, and I dabbled in different settings within the multiverse. As a GM I'm generally a rule of cool guy who does his best to stick by the book for the most part, but I'll never stifle your fun - especially if you are about to do something absolutely rad. I'm your characters' #1 fan when you are at the table. If you have any questions before signing up to any one of my games, I'm always active on the website and would be more than happy to answer them! I hope you can find a game that you can enjoy on my profile. Looking forward to meeting you!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will go over the character creation process together, as this game system is tailored towards building your character as a person first, and as a "class" second. I want interconnected characters, who have reasons to be together and work together - willingly or begrudgingly, but still working together. We will go over the details at session 0, but everyone will start at the same beginner level, with unique roles in their house on Arrakis.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🎤 A decent microphone is a must. 📷 Cameras are optional, but highly encouraged, as I believe seeing each other enhances our roleplay. 🔊A Discord account (free to register). 📹 A Zoom account for an interview. 🎲 Roll20 account (for the table and dice rolls. Also free to register). 📄 An interview to see if we are a good fit together (and questions you'd like to ask me). ✍️ A character concept fitting the atmosphere of the game. 🎓 Beginners are welcome; I will explain the rules and the system as we play, should need be.

None really - Dune isn't a crunchy, rules-heavy game; it is for roleplaying and experiencing the universe from the eyes of your characters so we won't really need homebrew rules.

How Onur Temel creates a safe table

I will be sending a link to a Consent Checklist document, where you can check off all the topics you are uncomfortable with as your Lines and Veils. If they confuse you, we will go over them in Session 0 as well. Any content warnings listed here can easily be removed if they are uncomfortable topics for you. You can also at any given moment demand a break should you feel uncomfortable with what is happening during play, take as long as you need and get back whenever you are ready. During Session 0, as we come up with concepts and characters, we will also go over everyone's limits so the ones at the table know each other's comfort level and do not stray away. After each session we will briefly go over what happened during play and I will check in with everyone, especially in sessions where we have had intense moments, to make sure that everyone feels okay, and ask for your feedbacks on what you enjoyed and what you would like to see less off as we go forward. Your input matters a lot and shapes the game just as much as my story does.
