About the adventure
This is your first mission as Lancers, though you may have participated in other missions before as lower-class pilots careers. You have been summoned to a mission on the planet "Wa’ya", a world with very harsh and exrteme climates, but that didn't stop its colonization by Union. It was colonized during SecComm, but its collapse pushed it away from Wa’ya, losing its contact with the planet. Centuries after SecComm’s fall, ThirdComm has finally re-established contact with Wa'ya, with the main goal of building a Blinkgate in the system and turning Wa’ya into its first Core world. After many failed attempts at contact — and even threats from some of the planet's organizations — the Oasis Matriarchy responded, stating it is open to diplomatic negotiations with Union. You, as Lancers, were summoned specifically to protect the ambassadors and reinforce Union presence alongside the naval fleet, ensuring the conversion process goes according to plan. Your ship is already prepared to take you there at the Lambda-1 Slingshot station, where you'll be transported to "The Galleon", a Space station that is now on Wa'ya's orbit. You will receive more information about the Zone of Operations and Wa’ya upon arrival at the Galleon. Good luck, Lancers! ------------------------- "Dust Horizon" is an original, beginner-friendly Lancer campaing. A combat-focused story with a political intrigue backdrop where players will need to deal with conflicts of interests, negotiations, war efforts and revolts on the planet of Wa'ya, a planet with two extreme climates, a harsh desert and a freezing tundra. The campaign will start at LL(License Level)0 and end at LL3. The DM will provide all the support to players, beginner and veterans alike, offering resources, explaining rules and answering questions they may have.

About me
I've been into tabletop RPGs since I was young, around 12-13 years old, totalling close to 10 years of tabletop RPG, most of those years being GM. Since then I've played in a variety of groups and game systems like D&D 5e, Pathfinder 1e and 2e, Lancer, Tormenta, T20, Cain, kids on bikes and some others. Always aspiring to create fun stories for everyone in each of my plagroups. Fluent in brazilian portuguese, being my main language, and in english. TTRPGs are truly one of my favorite hobbies ever as a way to connect with people thorugh unique and fantastic stories and games. Hopefully doing the same here at StartPlaying <3
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Before we even begin the first session I will talk individually to all players so I can explain the rules to them, help them set their comp/con and foundry profiles. Then create their characters with them, the rules for character creation being: - Players will start at LL0, they can choose any official GMS frame to start. - Only licenses, talents, frames and systems from official books. Also during the first session, or a session zero to be more specific, I will set up player's expectations, limits and see if everyone is confortable to start, answer any questions they may have, see if everyone feels safe to begin and all expectations are lined up.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Here is a list of things players need to have to play at the table: - Discord account - Microphone
What Lina brings to the table
During all times I use ambient music and sometimes even sound effects for better immersion. I also provide visual aid for almost all characters and places. Usually I prefer to stick to RaW (Rules as Written) during combat, but I do not care to bend or break the rules for a cool scene, even more if it's for a roleplay scene during a rest or downtime. I will be providing free resources for players to research the rules accurately so there won't be any misunderstandings during the sessions, and even if they happen I'll happily find a solution to it.

How Lina creates a safe table
On session 0, after discussing with my players about any expectations they have and any safety issues they may have. I always send to my players a forms where they anonymously (so no one feels embarassed in any way) with a lot of options they can fill if they are confortable or not and also to set up any lines and/veils they would want at the table. Also I use digital X, N and O cards, usually typed messages in foundry's chat, but most times I ask verbally if everybody is feeling confortable to be my "O-card for the moment"
