About the adventure

The first thing people notice about the Velastrian Empire is its beauty. White marble towers rise in careful symmetry. Lanternlight reflects in polished streets. Festivals bloom across the calendar with music, silk banners, and curated spectacle. Artists are funded. Performers are elevated. Innovation is celebrated publicly and lavishly. The Empire has made excellence visible. Travelers speak of safety on its roads and opportunity within its cities. Ambition is not only allowed but also encouraged. If you are talented, driven, or daring enough, there is a place for you here. Recognition can be earned. Status can be built. Names can rise quickly. But there are smaller stories, too: A patrol that never returned, though their armor was later found stacked neatly by the roadside. A minor noble whose household was quietly “restructured.” A scholar whose research was deemed unnecessary, and whose name slowly stopped appearing in conversation. There are no public executions in Velastra. No heads on spikes. No dramatic displays of cruelty. Things simply… disappear. And yet, life continues. The markets remain full. The theaters remain lit. The Empire continues to host competitions, parades, and public works projects that genuinely improve the lives of its citizens. It is not a wasteland. It is not chaos. It is something far more controlled. This campaign takes place within that control. Players create ambitious, imperfect characters navigating a society that rewards excellence and quietly smooths over what does not fit. You may seek glory, wealth, knowledge, protection, status, rebellion, or survival. You may believe in the Empire. You may question it. You may simply want to succeed within it. Reputation matters. Public perception shapes opportunity. Alliances form in silk-draped halls as easily as they do in shadowed streets. Spectacle and politics intertwine. Even monsters, here, are rarely crude. They are styled, curated, and refined. The world is not collapsing. It is polished. Whether you rise within it, challenge it, or discover what has been buried beneath its immaculate surface will depend on the choices you make and how visible you are when you make them.

About me

As a GM, I prioritize clear communication, consent-aware storytelling, and adapting to the players at my table. Whether you’re brand new to tabletop games or a seasoned roleplayer looking for a deeply engaging story, my goal is always the same: to create a space where you feel excited to show up, invested in the world, and proud of the story we’re telling together.

Creating your character

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Roll20 is all you need, but D&D Beyond is fine with the Beyond 20 Extension.

What Keeker brings to the table

I run character-driven, atmosphere-heavy games where the world feels alive and reactive. You can expect immersive narration, distinct NPC personalities (yes, I do character voices), and layered social dynamics where conversations matter as much as combat. I use ambient music to support tone, subtle, not distracting, and I lean into cinematic pacing when scenes call for it. Combat in my games is meaningful. I enjoy tactical encounters with clear stakes, environmental interaction, and consequences beyond just hit points. Enemies behave intelligently. Positioning matters. But so do creative solutions. If you have a clever idea that fits the world, I will absolutely reward it. I balance Rules as Written with Rule of Cool. The rules provide structure; drama provides momentum. If something enhances story, tone, or character identity without breaking the game, I’m inclined to allow it.
