About the adventure

If you've seen the show I run called Defenders of Phandelver, then this is your chance to experience it for yourself! I'm taking one party through the entirety of Phandelver and Below starting at level one, and going all the way to level 11. Come experience this module with all the body horror, mental anguish and fear that it deserves. If you've never played D&D before, then this is a great place to start as we begin at level 1, but if you're an experienced player there's still going to be plenty for you to enjoy as I am a highly experienced dungeon master. Rule of cool matters most here, as does roleplay, but you'll also get your fill of crunchy gameplay as combat is vital to this campaign, as it involves lots of dungeon crawls. Get to know your party, the people of Phandalin, and then struggle to save them both as the world slowly mutates into your worst nightmares. Not for the faint of heart as body horror is also a big aspect of this story!

About me

Hi all! My name is George, I am a Dungeon Master and Storyteller with over 10 years of experience running games professionally for places like Forgotten Adventures, where I currently stream my games twice a week! Also I have run games professionally for corporate clients and events as well. My goal is to make enough money running games to focus on this full time, doing the math, that would only take around ~20 players a week to be able to pay the bills! Seems reasonable, so here I am! I also am open to offers or requests, if you see a game of mine but need it at a different time, send me a message! I have experiencing running the following games: Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Mothership, Call of Cthulhu, Vampire the Masquerade, Hunter the Reckoning, Cyberpunk and Kids on Bikes!

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll make characters in session zero, roll for stats, and go over backstories together so the party can make connections with each other before the campaign starts. Session Zero will be free.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Just join the discord or message me! Also make sure you have a microphone, headset and camera!

What GloriousGe0rge brings to the table

I'll be providing a Discord server for us to chat in, weekly hand outs and visuals via video calls. Each session will have music, character voices, and sometimes I'll make custom maps (like if the players end up getting a hideout of their own). Every session will have battlemaps provided by Forgotten Adventures, along with tokens, and other map assets. To make a character you'll be added to one of my dndbeyond campaigns where you'll have access to nearly all of the published books so far. I enjoy tactical combat but absolutely roll with rule of cool.

Homebrew rules

Drinking Potions is a bonus action. When you cast a spell as a bonus action you can still cast a spell as an action on that turn. When a player is in death saves they can choose to forgo their remaining saves to enter into a last stand before dying. Ranged attacks on enemies within 5ft of you do not have disadvantage, but ranged attacks on other enemies while an enemy is within 5ft do have disadvantage.

Safety

How GloriousGe0rge creates a safe table

We will go over lines and veils via a survey in session zero, we'll also go over the campaign's themes and what players are expecting to make sure all players are aligned. After each session we'll have a check-in to make sure all players are content and to address any issues had at the table.
