About the adventure

Welcome to Drakkenheim, a ruined city shattered by eldritch catastrophe and torn apart by political ambition. This is a player-driven sandbox campaign where your choices, alliances, and moral compromises actively shape the fate of the city and its five competing factions. Inspired by the game Fallout: New Vegas and Lovecraftian cosmic horror, this game blends grimdark fantasy with meaningful roleplay, dangerous exploration, and high-stakes decision making. 🎲 What This Game Is About 🎲 Drakkenheim is deadly, unpredictable, and alive. Adventurers enter its ruins seeking fortune, answers, vengeance, or redemption. Delirium, a powerful and corrupting substance born of the catastrophe, is both the city’s greatest treasure and its greatest curse. This campaign emphasizes: - Player agency and emergent storytelling - Faction politics and moral dilemmas - Careful planning and resource management - Tactical combat where choices matter Character death is possible, but never arbitrary. The world reacts logically and consistently to your actions. 🧭 Table Tone & Expectations 🧭 👌This game is for you if you enjoy: - Roleplay-heavy games with character goals that matter - Dangerous worlds with real consequences - Faction intrigue and difficult choices - Gritty, grounded fantasy with moments of dark humor 👎This game may NOT be for you if: - You prefer lighthearted or low-risk adventures - You want a pure power-fantasy experience - You dislike player accountability or meaningful failure 🛡 Session Zero is included to establish tone, boundaries, safety tools, and character connections. 🧟 Themes & Inspiration - Grimdark fantasy and folk horror - Cosmic horror and eldritch corruption - Political intrigue between rival factions - Survival-focused exploration Touchstones include The Witcher, Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders, Fallout: New Vegas, and H.P. Lovecraft’s works.

About me

Since I started playing TTRPGs and 5e I've grown a huge passion for the hobby and now eat, sleep, DnD, repeat! With a background in facilitation and education technology, I was naturally drawn to GMing and although I love to play, I adore DMing. Onboarding new players and giving them the support to learn not only the rules but the space and time to develop their playstyle and RP is particularly rewarding for me.

Character creation

Creating your character

🧝 Character Creation Characters begin at Level 1 and are deeply tied to Drakkenheim’s factions, history, or aftermath. During Session Zero, we’ll refine backstories and establish bonds between PCs to support strong roleplay from the start. Example character hooks: - A spellcaster seeking forbidden knowledge of delirium - A displaced noble or refugee searching for a lost legacy - A criminal with a score to settle in the ruins - A monster hunter chasing fame or redemption - A zealot or skeptic seeking meaning after the catastrophe I’m happy to collaborate and tailor goals to fit the setting. ⚔️ Rules & Mechanics ⚔️ - D&D 2024 Ruleset - Standard Array for stats - Starting equipment per DMG - Official Drakkenheim content supported - Drakkenheim-specific subclasses available on request
