About the adventure

In this short campaign, you’ll dive headfirst into a living city where every alley hides a secret and every smile may mask a scheme. Expect political intrigue, rival factions grasping for power, daring investigations, and a high stakes hunt for a legendary fortune. Shape the fate of Waterdeep with your choices, alliances and bold plans and get filthy rich! (Maybe). Your characters will begin at level 1, making this an ideal starting point if you’re brand new to D&D or looking to build confidence with the game. Over the course of roughly 12–15 sessions, you’ll be drawn into a web of rival factions all chasing a legendary treasure, culminating in a dramatic finale as your characters reach level 5.

About me

Hey there! I’m ✹Max✹, and I’ve been a DM for almost 10 years, running games for friends, family, and well everything in between. My go to system is Dungeons & Dragons, but I also love diving into other stuff like Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, and more. My first rule as a DM: we’re here to have fun. It’s a game, after all! đŸŽČ At my tables everyone is welcome. LGBTQ+ players 🌈, newcomers, and anyone who just wants to roll dice and tell stories together. Let’s create something unforgettable!

Character creation

Creating your character

The first thing I love to do is start with a one-on-one Session 0. In this initial meeting, we’ll get to know each other, create your character together, answer any open questions, and make sure you feel fully prepared for the campaign ahead. You don’t need any prior knowledge or rulebooks at all. I’ll handle the rules and mechanics so you can focus on roleplaying, making choices, and having a great time at my virtual table.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Character creation will be done using D&D Beyond. We’ll be playing on Foundry as our virtual tabletop, with all details and guidance provided during Session 0. For voice chat, I’ll invite you to a dedicated Discord server set up specifically for the campaign.

What Mexemilion brings to the table

I’ll do my best to make this a memorable adventure, full of unique NPCs, clever puzzles, different locations and some tactical combat. But the main focus is always your story. You shape it with your actions and ideas. Be creative, make it yours, and remember: the rules are there to be broken!

Homebrew rules

We’ll be using just a few light homebrew rules to streamline play (or make things a bit more dangerous). Drinking a potion will be a bonus action to help keep your character alive, and we’ll use heavy crits to make critical hits feel truly powerful and critical. But dont worry to much about that, I will explain what that means when the time is right.

Safety

How Mexemilion creates a safe table

At Session 0, I’ll provide a Lines and Veils document so everyone at the table can express their boundaries. This helps ensure that everyone feels comfortable and that I can adjust the adventure to meet everyone’s needs. Remember: the first rule is to have fun. Nobody enjoys the game if someone feels uncomfortable, so I’ll make sure everything stays within everyone’s comfort zone, so we can have an awesome, fun game night!
