About the adventure

This campaign is all about being part of a criminal organization known as the Ebonclad and furthering both their and your goals. If you are a fan of intrigue, crime and being morally gray in your roleplay then this is the game for you. The actual fluff of it: We are the cogs which make the great Wheel spin. We hold the strings tied to the marionette. Where pacts are drawn, We are the ink upon the parchment. Where ships set sail, We are the wind upon their masts. Where kings are made, ours are the hands holding the crown. We seek no glory. We hold no oaths. We take what is ours. We are the black at the edge of the darkness. We are the silence at the bottom of the abyss. We are the ghosts who tread the streets unseen. Those who call our names shall find only shadows in response. We are Ebonclad. We wear the night. Those words, spoken on a fateful night, launched you into this new life of crime far beyond the petty trappings of what you once considered impressive.

About me

I have around 7 years of playing and running TTRPGs. I have DM'd a wide range of systems and modules in both pen/paper and online, providing immersive and challenging encounters and stories. I am drawn in by the creativity of my players as they interact with the adventure and shape it to suit their characters. I offer a mix of original adventures and modules to best bring about a player character's destiny and provide an engaging experience. My preferred platforms are Discord then either Foundry or Roll20 depending on the system.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created on Foundry VTT. Characters can be created at your convenience prior to the first session, and if you would prefer we can set up a time to chat and finalize characters and backstories to be ready for the first session. We will be using the 2014 DnD 5e rules and all associated official content. The Basics will be: Starting Level: 3rd Stats: Standard Array or Point Buy HP: Max result on the dice Equipment: Basic starting equipment, whatever your background gives you and any tools related to your proficiencies other than vehicles.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A Mic is required. You will need internet access as well to access foundry at a link I will provide when we make characters and start playing. Foundry does not require any download as it is web based but you will require a Forge VTT account as that is where I host Foundry VTT. I welcome my players to use their own dice if they have them, or they can use the digital dice on Foundry VTT if they would rather have the math all done for them. If you are new to 5e or Forge/Foundry then let me know so that I can assist with any questions or issues that may arise.

What Ark brings to the table

I will provide the Foundry VTT, custom maps and any resources required to running the game or making your character sheets. I also use (usually awful) character voices and the occasional ambient music. I tend to mix Rules as Written and Rule of Cool.

Safety

How Ark creates a safe table

I very much keep an open door policy so any concerns can be voiced at any time via message and we can go from there. As for session 0 talk, I mainly cover expectations, potential triggers and finding out what works for everyone.
