About Ark

I have around 7 years of playing and running TTRPGs. I have DM'd a wide range of systems and modules in both pen/paper and online, providing immersive and challenging encounters and stories. I am drawn in by the creativity of my players as they interact with the adventure and shape it to suit their characters. I offer a mix of original adventures and modules to best bring about a player character's destiny and provide an engaging experience. My preferred platforms are Discord then either Foundry or Roll20 depending on the system.

How Ark runs games

I enjoy playing intelligent monsters and NPCs to give the party a real sense of connection with the setting and the people in it. I use (awful) voices and (horrid) accents to role play. My games tend towards more social settings on average unless we're aiming for something grittier and more violent. I also pride myself on working with player creativity to find more interesting paths and really convey the idea of cooperative storytelling that most systems push for.

I prep by doing a whole mix of things. There's the usual things like making maps or picking music and then there's the less than usual things like hyper-fixating and rabbit-holing on things I might want to introduce into games.

When it comes to voices you can expect a mixed bag of them ranging from just passable to completely unhinged but it tends to all come together in the end.

I love it when a player makes a completely insane decision during RP because they got lost in the moment, got excited and threw caution to the wind resulting in a whole new and unexpected mess for the group to work through or around.

My perfect party mix is whatever the players can cobble together as long as we have fun. Not sure I'd run an 'Oops all rogues' game again any time soon though.
