About the adventure
Once, the Windvale region was a land of golden fields and endless harvests. Now, as your party crests the rolling hills, you are met not with bounty, but with blight. The earth is cracked and barren, the crops withered to dust. Among the desolation lie the broken bodies of Windvale’s guards—yet one clings to life just long enough to whisper: "Tell Ironsky… we failed. Tell her… it is fallen." With his final breath, silence falls heavier than the grave. But hunger is not the only predator here. As you delve deeper, you uncover whispers of dark bargains struck in desperation—contracts sealed not with ink, but with blood and hunger itself. The town guard is powerless, the people are starving, and the land itself seems cursed. Now, fate rests in your hands. Will you unravel the sinister forces preying upon Windvale, freeing its people from the gnawing jaws of famine and tyranny? Or will you, too, be devoured by the oaths of the hungry?

About me
Lifelong dork, I have always loved gaming. From board games, video games, sports, and roleplaying, I truly enjoyed them all. My bachelor's degree is in Drama and I spent a great deal of my life in improv and acting. My career is an education and I am currently a Middle School Principal and relish how much I get to see my students enjoying the world as they explore their own imaginations. I run a DND club with students, but also enjoy adult DND games as well. I began playing AD&D with my brother and father when I was in elementary school and have played many different versions since. We explored different TTRPGs growing up, but Dungeons and Dragons has always been a staple.

Creating your character
This game will use the Player's Handbook 2024 for character creation. We will play on Roll20 and have a Zero Session to coordinate party expectations prior to our game. The GM will assist with character creation if needed, but party dynamic should be considered prior to building characters.
Happy to play with beginners and experts.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All players need a Roll20 account. We will coordinate game details via Discord.
What Trey brings to the table
As a GM, I like to build the experience that my gamers prefer. I have used ambient music in the past, but don't overly rely on outside materials to set the stage for platers. I do tend to stick to traditional rules as written, but have been known to make up rules as the game dictates. The purpose of the experience is to build a collaborative story that is enhanced by the rulebook as a guide, not hindered by dogmatic fealty to source material.

How Trey creates a safe table
In our Session 0, we will review our Lines and Veils as well as general expectations for player and GM conduct. A paper with an "X" on it should be shown on camera to indicate that something has triggered uncomfortable feelings and should be avoided. For follow-up on each session if we don't have time at the end, a message will be sent to participants via e-mail for stars (what was enjoyed) in that session and wishes (what you want) for future sessions.
