About the adventure

In this short adventure, designed for complete beginners to D&D or TTRPGs in general, you’ll take on the roles of a group of young troublemakers who find themselves caught up in a mystery surrounding their hometown of Welton. While most kingdoms send armies to fight for power and glory, with soldiers bleeding on distant battlefields, the biggest worries of the people of Welton are missing sheep or an approaching storm. Here, war is nothing but a rumor carried into town by travelers or the wind. But chaos has a way of creeping into even the quietest places, and Welton is no exception. A threat looms over the town—will you solve the mystery and save Welton? This adventure is a modified version of The Wolves of Welton by Winghorn Press. I’ve added my own spin and placed it in a different context, but credit is due where credit is owed.

About me

Hey there! I’m ✨Max✨, and I’ve been a DM for almost 10 years, running games for friends, family, and well everything in between. My go to system is Dungeons & Dragons, but I also love diving into other stuff like Call of Cthulhu, Cyberpunk, and more. My first rule as a DM: we’re here to have fun. It’s a game, after all! 🎲 At my tables everyone is welcome. LGBTQ+ players 🌈, newcomers, and anyone who just wants to roll dice and tell stories together. Let’s create something unforgettable!

Character creation

Creating your character

Since this adventure is meant for beginners, we’ll start with a Session 0. That means we’ll create your characters together! I’ll guide you through the process, share helpful information, and help you bring your character to life.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We’ll meet over Discord to talk and interact with each other. Apart from that, I’ll provide you with links to everything you need during Session 0, so everyone comes prepared for the adventure itself.

What Mexemilion brings to the table

I’ll do my best to make this a memorable adventure, full of unique NPCs, clever puzzles, different locations and some tactical combat. But the main focus is always your story. You shape it with your actions and ideas. Be creative, make it yours, and remember: the rules are there to be broken!

Homebrew rules

There won’t be any homebrew rules in this one-shot, just the standard, basic rules so you can get comfortable with them.

Safety

How Mexemilion creates a safe table

At Session 0, I’ll provide a Lines and Veils document so everyone at the table can express their boundaries. This helps ensure that everyone feels comfortable and that I can adjust the adventure to meet everyone’s needs. Remember: the first rule is to have fun. Nobody enjoys the game if someone feels uncomfortable, so I’ll make sure everything stays within everyone’s comfort zone—so we can have an awesome, fun game night!
