About the adventure
Return of the Ripper is a dark investigative horror scenario set in the gaslit streets of London in the late summer of 1893. A new series of brutal murders has reignited old fears, whispering of a name thought buried five years ago: Jack the Ripper. As panic spreads and authorities falter, a group of London-based Investigators are drawn into a mystery that refuses to stay dead. This is not merely a hunt for a killer. As the truth unravels, players will uncover occult rituals, forbidden knowledge, and the revelation that the Ripper has connections to forces beyond human understanding. The murders are only the surface of something far older and far more dangerous... cosmic entities and cultic horrors working in uneasy concert, some with agendas that eclipse the Ripper himself. The game emphasizes atmosphere, investigation, and creeping dread over action. Expect tense interrogations, grim discoveries, moral uncertainty, and the slow erosion of sanity as the veil is pulled back on a reality humanity was never meant to see. Violence is swift, brutal, and rarely the safest solution. Return of the Ripper is ideal for players who enjoy historical settings, mystery-driven play, and cosmic horror in the style of Lovecraft and Victorian penny dreadfuls. This scenario rewards careful thinking, roleplay, and curiosity... and reminds Investigators that some secrets, once uncovered, can never be forgotten.

Creating your character
For this scenario, players should create Investigator characters appropriate for late Victorian London (circa 1893). Characters can be professionals, academics, detectives, journalists, or others who would reasonably find themselves drawn into mysterious events in London’s streets and alleyways. I will help each player create their character according to the 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu Rules, but if you want to get a headstart, check out this video by Seth Skorkowsky https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43iouE6lPNw
