About the adventure

Welcome to Kesemretz! My original homebrew world! You won't be long there though as your adventure brings you the Feywild.... by way of the famous multiplanar travelling Witchlight Carnival. The first part of this adventure is very chill and is all about having fun at a magical carnival! There is snail racing, a cupcake eating contest, and more games and treats to explore! At some point you will enter the Feywild..... and things might not stay as bright and fun..... Wild Beyond the Witchlight was also apparently the first officially published adventure that can be completed with zero fighting! But talking your way out of things in the Feywild can be harder than expected. I am up for anything! Will you go the pacifist route? The kill everything route? Somewhere in the middle? As long as the party is in agreement we can make it happen. Session Zero is free!

About me

Hello I'm Jaime! I love Dungeons and Dragons a lot... I kind of hyper-focused on the new 2024 rule-set when they came out last year and have been buying the new books as they've come out so if you're looking to play a game with the updated rules you've come to the right place!

Character creation

Creating your character

You can either create a level 1, 2, or 3 character. If you're new to dnd I would recommend starting at level 1. Additionally, starting at level 3 plays in to the roleplaying aspect of the adventure. We will be using 2024 rules. That means if you want to use a race/class/background that is not in the 2024 PHB just run it by me first! I'll adjust the mechanics to fit the new rules! You may each also have one Common Magic Item! For Ability Scores you can either use the Standard Array or roll. If you roll; roll four d6s and drop the lowest for each ability score. (You may assign scores after you role all six) You can reroll 1's but only once! I use DnD Beyond for character sheets and Maps. Mixing 2014 and 2024 on there can be difficult so if you wanna create your character somewhere else that's totally fine with me! Just send me your character sheet before Session Zero. Session Zero we will talk about Safety Tools like Lines and Veils. In Session Zero we will also build how the party was formed/how everyone knows each other. I like to use some questions from Kids on Brooms to bring depth to character's relationships starting out.

The current party

Starting at a lower level means you want a more high-stakes/dangerous campaign. Starting at a higher level means you want to focus more on exploration and roleplay (or I suppose if you want to steamroll combat encounters  I am good either way!)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Start building your character sheet! But don't go too deep into backstory as we will be coming up with that together in Session Zero! You will need DnD Beyond and Discord accounts (they are both free!). When you sign on to the game I will send you a Lines and Veils form to fill out.

What Jaime brings to the table

My alignment is mostly Lawful Good so I do love the rules HOWEVER if I was any other alignment it would be True Neutral. I can definitely be flexible! It's just works best if I know in advance if you wanna do things differently. I was in Destination Imagination so I go by the philosophy of "if it doesn't say I can't do something then I Can do it" I am good at accents but bad at remembering what accent I gave to which NPC! I also personally love combat and exploration so there will always be those elements throughout my games. However if the party wants to spend the entire session talking to each other I woudl also absolutely love that! Just don't make too many NPCs talk to each other lol!

Homebrew rules

- When you cause an enemy to roll a Saving Throw for a Spell and they roll a Nat 1, they will take double damage. - Similarly if you would have Advantage on a roll but you cast a Saving Throw Spell, the enemy rolls with Disadvantage. - When Wildshaping Druids add their Proficiency Bonus in addition to their level as their Temp HP. - Grease CAN catch fire. - Nat 1s are always a failure, ability check, attack roll, or saving throw - Nat 20s are always a success, ability check, attack roll, or saving throw

Safety

How Jaime creates a safe table

Playing a game is about having fun! And being uncomfortable is not fun (for most people). We will be using Lines and Veils as our Safety Tools in this campaign. Additionally you may DM me at any time to let me know if you need to pause or don't want something in the game.
