About the adventure

Reset. Light the fires. Set the stage. Give the cards new costumes, new names, new faces, new magic. Draw. You've been caught in the games for quite some time. Many who joined when the first cards were made have forgotten their true names, replaced by title upon title. Warrior. Archer. Mage. "The Great." Champion. All labels that have passed between many. It was the promise of something great for the winner, but what constitutes winning seems to keep changing. A winding wheel of constant conflict between factions that keep changing banners and colors, all bringing their "heroes" out to fight. Heroes...that word used to mean something. The labels used to mean something before the fighting. The reigns that keep you obedient to the forces that guide - the phantom hands that draw - falter and a flicker of yourself comes forward from broken memories. You were not meant to be the pawn. You were meant to be the player. It's time for the blade and the deck. It's time to draw your hand and Draw Steel!

About me

Since I started playing tabletops I've loved all the joy it brings people at a table. It's like going through a fantastical novel with a group of like-minded lovers of adventure! I've been GM-ing for about 10 years, and every session is worth the memorable experiences that I hope both I and my players receive.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players are encouraged to model their character after an idea of what their "card" might be (think Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Hearthstone or similar). A Time Raider Fury might end up as "Furious Time Raider Athenos," or a Polder Talent might be something like "Polder Zeek the Awakened Psyche." You'll be starting as level 1s, and we are going to have a Session 0 to establish the team and their starting point.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We use Discord for voice (no cam required), and I tend to use the Foundry virtual tabletop for maps.

What William brings to the table

I try to provide everything I would want from the other side of the table; I like a balanced experience with a bit of everything. Tactical combat, interesting characters, a living world to be a part of...I love it all and I want to provide everything I can to my players. Aside from what I hope for, I can provide music, a virtual tabletop for tactical situations, and the best of my narrative skill to make a story worth being a part of.

Homebrew rules

-If there is a feature you get no use out of (as in it hasn't benefited you at all) and you could have chosen something else, you can swap it out at the end of the session for a different choice.

Safety

How William creates a safe table

We're all coming to the table to have a good time, and part of that is an open narrative about what people want and don't want to see. I make it clear that the door is open both in terms of discussion and your ability to leave for any reason, whether it be a personal emergency or otherwise. Life comes first and I'm sure I'll say it many times but we're all here for fun.
