I have successfully ran over three dozen modules from diverse variety of game systems including but not limited to Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Delta Green, Trail of Cthulhu, Savage Worlds and Vampire the Masquerade. Character creation

Creating your character

Because the Core Rules for Pendragon 6th edition have not been released yet, players will be choosing to play one of eight pre-generated characters included within the Starter Set. With this in mind, I would like to speak with all players prior to session one over a discord call.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Equipment-wise players are expected to bring a desktop computer or laptop with a stable internet connection and a working microphone. Voice chat and the majority of text messages will be done through a discord server, I will provide the invitation link to the server when players after join the game. It is preferred that players have a noise free environment or set push to talk when there is much background noise. Players are not expected to bring rulebooks to sessions but they can be useful for clarifying certain rules during a break.

What James brings to the table

Hello my name is James, I have been Game Mastering on this for six years and have been playing Basic Roleplaying system for over three years. I got my start with Call of Cthulhu 7th edition but have also played a bit of Runequest Roleplaying in Glorantha. This will be my first experience with Pendragon and so I believe it will be an excellent jumping on point for both newcomers and veterans to the system.

Safety

How James creates a safe table

Every gaming table is unique and have their own preferences when it comes what they tend to focus their sessions on. Some groups prefer a more hack and slash style chronicle focusing on engaging in daring combats often these sort of game place a heavy emphasis in dice-detailed play. Other tables favor dynamic social tension drawing on character backstory. To offer up the best possible experience for newcomers the kind of game that I am trying to run will be a perfect middle between these modes of play! Players can expect a character-focused, immersive, intrigue heavy, and lore-rich game with lethal combat! Perfect for beginners and expert Pendragon Players alike! As for the system, Pendragon is a roleplaying game with a distinctive identity. The rules are focused and fit into a simple system designed to promote a singular gaming experience. The setting may seem strange at first, but you only need to know the rules of knighthood, and you will be as knowledgeable as the heroes of old.
