About the adventure
This is an epic Star Wars: Force and Destiny campaign set in the High Republic Era, roughly 200 years prior to the events of The Phantom Menace, and 100 years before the events of The Acolyte. It is an era of peace and prosperity, where the Jedi Order exists at the height of its power and influence. In this campaign you will either play a Padawan who stands on the verge of becoming a fully fledged Jedi Knight, or one such Knight who has recently reunited with their old master. When a Republic exploration team goes missing after discovering a new world on the edge of known space, you and a team of fellow Jedi are dispatched to investigate and find out what happened. This game will use the FFG Star Wars RPG rules, which uses a set of narrative dice instead of numbered dice to generate exciting story-first outcomes with every roll. This really facilitates roleplay and tactical combat while rewarding creative thinking, which helps make every game feel like something straight out of a Star Wars movie or comic. Whether you’re a veteran of the system or brand new to it, I’d love to have you at the table! What I’m looking for in a group of players are people who love Star Wars and telling collaborative stories with others. Together, we’re going to undertake an incredible cinematic journey defined by the essential staples of a Star Wars story: found family and friendship, personal stakes, dramatic stories, and danger that always manages to be lurking around the corner. What does it mean to be a good person? What does it mean to be a Jedi? What would you do to keep the ones you love and care about safe from danger? Let’s find out.

About me
Hi! My name is Zara Bamford and I live in Chicago, IL, with my partner and our adorable little monster of a cat. I’m passionate about history, comic books, medieval fantasy, science-fiction, and cooking. I’ve been DM’ing professionally for over three years on the convention circuit and have run D&D 5th Edition, Arkham Horror, and Star Wars: Edge of the Empire at major conventions like Gencon, Gamehole Con, and Pax Unplugged on behalf of Asmodee. I got my start in tabletop gaming with Warhammer 40,000, and spent countless hours hunched over kitchen tables and patios in my youth waging epic battles with plastic and metal figurines, but I always craved something more than just tactical combat - I wanted narrative, an epic adventure to accompany awesome battles. I wouldn't start truly DM'ing till college however, where I started a Rogue Trader campaign for my friends which continues to this day!

Creating your character
You may choose any extant species from the High Republic era for your characters race. For class, please choose between Sentinel, Mystic, Seeker, Guardian, and Warrior. You may choose whatever subclass from among these you feel is appropriate, with one restriction: no Padawan will start the campaign as a Juyo Berserker, Jedi General, or Jedi Master. Jedi Padawans will start play with 100 additional experience. Jedi Knights will start play with 150 additional experience. This experience cannot be spent on increasing your characteristics. In addition, all PC's will start the game with an additional 30 xp to spend at character creation, to reflect that their padawans have been on a dangerous or demanding mission before. I would recommend either using hyperdrivegenerator or oggdudes character creator to quickly assemble a character, though you're also welcome to use the corebooks and edit a pdf character sheet using a free pdf editor like Kami. Once you have your character sheet made and a concept in mind, you can send it to me either her or on discord.
This campaign requires an all-Jedi party at the start of the game. You will make either a Padawan with an additional 100 starting experience, or a Jedi Knight with an additional 150 starting experience. There can only be two Knights in the party at the start of the game, so please message me when you sign up with a character idea that we can discuss! When it comes to race for your Jedi, all available species for the High Republic era are on the table! We will work together to come up with a background that ties your character to their Jedi Master, an important NPC who will be accompanying them on this mission.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
To play in this game you will need a Discord account to join the voice server. I also recommend downloading the VTT TaleSpire, as we will use it for some of our exploration and combat sequences.
What Zara brings to the table
When you join one of my games you're signing up for a special, one of a kind cinematic experience where your decisions and actions will shape the story that we tell and the world your characters inhabit. You will feel my excitement for the campaign in every character I voice and every description I give. You can expect dangerous and tactically demanding combat along with intense roleplaying and high stakes, character-driven action as you discover what it means to be a Jedi Knight. For these games I will make use of soundtracks and soundboards, as well as 3D VTT maps for engaging tactical combat and exploration sequences.

How Zara creates a safe table
This campaign will make use of Lines and Veils and a Red Card/Yellow Card system to keep everyone at the table safe. Lines are things we don’t ever want to see in the campaign, while Veils can be referenced but not witnessed or played out directly. If you’d like a scene to stop immediately, say or type “Red Card” or hold a red card up to the camera, and we will end the scene and retcon what happened. If you would like the intensity of the scene lowered or altered, without having it end entirely, you can say or type “Yellow Card” or likewise hold up an actual yellow card to the camera. I will never ask you to explain why you want something Red or Yellow carded.
