About the adventure

Six centuries ago, the Dhur dug too far beneath their mountain home, uncovering an ancient place meant to be left forgotten even by the oldest of gods, a place of pure darkness where not even the strongest magical light shone brighter than a mere candle. Now, creatures of darkness and Sin seek to use this passage to take over the world of the surface. The Dhur, understanding the threat they have unleashed, sealed their mountain home and cutoff relations with any and all outsiders to ensure these things do not gain a foothold. You are newly drafted Dhur soldiers, assigned to a reclamation squad sent deep into the tunnels to retake a strategic outpost, you know this mission will be difficult, but your service ensures the life of millions. "Life is sacrifice and sacrifice is honour". Using the Old-School Essentials system by Gavin Norman, this campaign will have a more serious tone than standard, exploring subjects of war, individualism and, to some degree, religion.

About me

Hello, my name is Marcos André, a game master from Brazil with 6 years of experience that has decided to enter the realm of professional GMing. Most of my experience is with Dungeons and Dragons 5e, but I have begun to use simpler systems like Old-School Essentials and 3DeT, nonetheless I am more than willing to learn a new system to run. My style of GMing is more to the chaotic side of things, usually starting with a published adventure and slowly letting the dice and players decide the way things go, a method that, more often than not, leads to a more fun, if more chaotic version of the adventure. I try to foster a friendly environment at my tables, doing my best to ensure a positive relationship between my players and myself. It is common for me to create custom content for specific players, such as custom weapons, classes, items, etc.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will follow the standard procedure detailed in the core rules

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a Discord account to join the server and a Google account for the character sheet. Having a decent mic is preferable, but not required as long as your voice can be understood clearly.

What Marcos André brings to the table

Basic Fantasy's books are available for free on their website, but I grant players access to my google drive folder nonetheless. I also make use of character voices as much as possible alongside ambient music to set a proper tone to the scenes. Though battles will be somewhat common, they will not be tactical in the same sense as something like DnD5e or PF2e, instead of on the spot tactics, players will need to consider their battles carefully as their resources are rather limited. I will primarily default to the rules as written unless the situation calls for it, such as a player trying to do something "out of the box".
