About the adventure

Scars from the Last War can be seen on faces across the continent of Khorvaire. The land itself was forever changed with the Mourning. Fears of returning to that chaos lead to many sleepless nights across the five nations and beyond. To some, a return to war feels unavoidable. Others yearn to tear apart the peace. It is a time in need of heroes. Dragonmarked beings wash up on an island far to the northeast. They went to sleep in their beds, becoming wrapped up in a vivid dream. The dream revealed many futures both great and horrifying as cacophony of hammers drowned out all sound. Steam from quenched steel wiped away those futures when the hammering ceased. Steel forged Draconic runes remained. They read, "A held throne cannot rise to greet the new day being forged". Something brought them through the Dreaming Dark to this unfamiliar island. Before them a path meanders from the beach into a pine forest. Sounds of rumbling water echo from its depths. Waves crash behind them, revealing obsidian-like spires beyond the break. Forward seems the only path. Forward to answers and destiny. _________________ This campaign is designed to be a sandbox primarily focusing on Khorvaire. All continents will still be open for adventuring. The party will upgrade transportation methods as they level up, eventually achieving one or more mobile bastions. My goal is 30% Combat, 30% Exploration and 40% Roleplay.

About me

Welcome! My name is Mae and I love creating memorable tabletop experiences. D&D was love at first sight for me. I watched a single episode of a stream and by the end of the week I had a DMG. Another week later and I was attacking my friends' characters with goblins as they tried to take some trade goods to Phandalin. That adventure and many more since then have helped me to learn about myself, support myself and follow my dreams. It brings me great joy to inspire creativity in others as our journeys cross paths above the board. Many of the aspects I now know about myself were learned through gaming. The freedom my initial DM provided allowed me to explore my identity. I embraced my queerness, gained confidence in my storytelling skills, came to understand the importance of safe spaces in fostering inner growth, and discovered that I love teamwork so long as proper boundaries are communicated. It is my goal to create a safe table so players can enjoy the very freedom that helped me to grow so much.

Character creation

Creating your character

📚 2024 Rules will be used ✏ D&D Beyond is preferred for character creation. Roll20 works as well. 🎭 Players may create level 3 characters using any official species and class. Having a Dragonmark is preferred. Homebrew is also welcome upon approval. ⚔ Characters each start with basic starting equipment plus one uncommon item, two common items and 200 GP. 🎲 I use a modified standard array of 17, 16, 15, 13, 11 and 9.

How Mae creates a safe table

✔ Session 0 will go over rules, characters, goals, group dynamics and other possible topics that can help create an experience the group looks forward to every week. Below is a link to my Lines and Veils document. I also have a player safety survey linked in the Discord. The survey is anonymous. Filling it out helps me to understand the wants and needs of the players in my games. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NHxZU-TXisBZlOIiLJM3BIkR3zA6q-AUwUlNoT0ChQo/edit?usp=sharing
