About the adventure
March 1921, Peru A mysterious name, Augustus Larkin, is gathering an expedition group with talented professionals. He claims that he will discover long-forgotten pyramids in the wilderness of Peru. It's a great opportunity for everyone to shine, being rich and famous. But there's a hidden truth: This mysterious adventure will be a start point of a huge, world-wide threat! Are you ready to face the dangers? Travel the world and fight against evil death cults? Take your seat and get ready for this long-term adventure to save the world! Masks of Nyarlathotep is a sandbox adventure that starts with a prologue in 1921's Peru and continues after series of events that happen in 1925's New York. The investigators will be able to travel across the world; to London, Shanghai, Sydney, Mombasa and Cairo in order to stop the foul end of the world! This enhanced version of my run includes extra cults, esoteric communities and provides players to take their action freely, so you can discover Mythos-infected however you want while chasing the main adventure! About me
Hello everyone! It's Shatargat! I'm a gamemaster with Turkish nationality, who runs his games in English since mid 2022. I'm a game designer and scenario author, and I mostly use these skills on my games. My main genre in everything is horror. I really like horror, occultism, supernatural stuff, mystery and other dark themes as well. I personally prefer heavy and extreme touches on the games, but I know that I can meet people on the common ground, and bring fun into these dark games. I'm also a content creator in my native language. And companies like Chaosium Inc., Helmgast, Free League Publishing and Renegade Game Studios support my content, and I introduce their game to my local audience. I also started to publish my own creations in English, under the name Black Dragon Tomes. My first book is YZE-inspired game called Lost Echoes. I'm also working on other personal projects, too. I believe that friendship, and, understanding and tolerating each other is the most important thing in life. Without communication, we cannot find a good place to have fun, right? Creating your character
We will do a session zero to talk about the game, the rules and the horror contract. Then you will create your characters. If we have leftover time, we can do a little prologue before the first session. Note: I don't want you to create your characters beforehand.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You don't need to do a specific preparation before the game starts. I will share everything necessary on Discord. Please try to use a decent microphone and headphones, because weird noises or echoes might discomfort others. You cannot join the game room via a tablet or phone. You need a PC and an updated web browser.
What Shatargat brings to the table
This game will provide you a professional Masks of Nyarlathotep experience (I ran this game 10 times before), along with recent content from Chaosium Inc, like Arkham, Cthulhu by Gaslight (it has lots of content about esoteric societies in London), Cults of Cthulhu (for potential side-quests) and more.
Homebrew rules
Technically it's not homebrew, but I would like to underline that in my games, LUCK value is NOT a point pool that you can spend to increase your success rate. It's more like a characteristics roll, just as you roll for your STR or POW. I don't extremely stick with every combat rules, but you will need to spend an action to reload your weapon when you're out of ammo or to fix your weapon when it malfunctions with a repair skill.

How Shatargat creates a safe table
The game is a long, weekly campaign that is focused on investigation. You will fight against evil death cults, try to survive and save the world! Game rules are easy to understand, but session zero is needed for creating characters. Please consider this game if you want to be in a long campaign. If you feel any discomfort during the game because of descriptions, you can cut my words and notice about it, so we don't get into its details and pass the scene quickly.
