About the adventure

When the mists carried you into this strange land, you knew it was an unholy place. If only you could find a way to leave, you would flee the dark woods and the soulless eyes of the locals, but the mists enshroud the land like a prison. You have learned of The Devil Strahd, an ancient vampire who rules over this land...but is he truly the ruler, or actually the prisoner? This horror campaign is based on the Curse of Strahd adventure, and expanded to provide players more opportunity to explore the lore of the lands of Ravenloft. It is also modified to remove much of the egregious racism and misogyny from the original adventure, though elements of xenophobia are still core to the campaign premise.

About me

Hi, I'm Daniel(they/them) and I've been playing and running RPGs ever since I found the Basic D&D set at 8 years old. Since then, I've run campaigns in every edition of D&D, Pathfinder 1e and 2e, Shadowrun, World of Darkness, FATE, and GURPS. I especially enjoy open-ended scenarios that allow players to find new and creative solutions to problems. I am a former math teacher and ran an after-school D&D club. I have spent a lot of time teaching new players and am excited to introduce you to the games I love, whether that means helping you find the most interesting ways to build a character, or doing the math so you don't have to! In particular, I am used to running games for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent players, and strive to make my games accessible to everyone.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will build characters together as part of session zero, using the standard point build. Unusual character ancestries are discouraged since they will be seen as monstrous by many of the people you encounter.
