About the adventure

Winter of Atom is an action-packed, non-linear sandbox campaign for Fallout: The Roleplaying Game, set in a Commonwealth locked beneath radioactive snow and endless cold. Starting as low-level survivors, your characters will explore frozen ruins, struggling settlements, and dangerous frontiers as the wasteland descends into chaos. This campaign blends open exploration, faction-driven storytelling, and explosive action. You’ll encounter both familiar Fallout locations and entirely new settlements, each shaped by the choices you make. Communities rise or fall based on who you help, who you oppose, and what you’re willing to sacrifice to survive the winter. Harsh survival conditions are always present—freezing weather, scarce resources, and hostile terrain are as deadly as raiders and monsters. Expect tense combat against terrifying creatures, high-stakes conflicts with relentless enemies, and moments of strange, unsettling supernatural horror lurking beneath the snow. At its core, Winter of Atom is about choice and consequence. Your characters are the story's protagonists, and your decisions will leave lasting marks on the Commonwealth. The campaign is designed to be flexible and player-driven, empowering you to shape the world, forge alliances, and decide what the wasteland becomes when the thaw finally comes.

About me

I am an experienced Game Master with over two decades of tabletop roleplaying experience and more than a decade of regular GMing. I have run games for a wide range of groups, from brand-new players to veteran “forever GMs,” across many different tones, genres, and campaign styles. My focus as a GM is on delivering engaging, well-paced sessions that feel immersive, fair, and fun. I enjoy building worlds, crafting memorable scenes, and helping players bring their characters to life through meaningful choices and consequences. Every game I run is designed to be a complete experience, whether it’s a one-shot, short arc, or long-term campaign. I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive table where players feel comfortable exploring their characters, collaborating with the group, and investing in the story. My goal is simple: run great games that players look forward to every session.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters are created during Session 0 using Demiplane, so no advance setup is required. We’ll build characters together to ensure everyone understands the system, the party works well as a group, and each character is tied into the setting and story. All characters begin at Level 1, and no prior experience with Fallout: The Roleplaying Game is needed.

The current party

The party is a strange but capable mix of wasteland survivors: (4/5) A Tribal Ritualist (Support/Medic), a Tribal Modernist (Scout/Stealth), an eccentric traveling mechanic (Crafting/Repair), and a Protectron World Movie Star from the old world (Face/Charisma).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

This game uses Discord for voice chat, Demiplane for character creation and management, and Roll20 for maps and gameplay. Players will need free accounts on all three platforms. After booking, you’ll receive invites to the Discord server, Demiplane campaign, and Roll20 game. Once you’ve joined the Discord and been confirmed as a member, we’ll schedule and plan Session 0, where we’ll finalize characters, expectations, and start building the story together.

What Empyrean GM brings to the table

I provide a cinematic, story-forward experience supported by ambient music and sound to bring the wasteland to life. Gameplay emphasizes strong narrative momentum, meaningful choices, and tense but rewarding encounters. I generally run the game Rules as Written to keep things fair and consistent—but when a truly cool moment happens, we lean into it. If it makes the story better, we’re doing that.

Safety

How Empyrean GM creates a safe table

Player comfort comes first. We’ll cover expectations, Lines & Veils, and content boundaries during Session 0, and players are always free to step away using the Open Door policy or take Breaks as needed. During play, X, N, & O cards (digital) are available at all times to quickly adjust content. These tools ensure the game stays fun, respectful, and safe for everyone at the table.
