About the adventure
The valley of Kerrianth, with its strange mechanisms and powerful magic, stands as a lone safe haven in the chaotic wilderness of Calwyn. Formed from an alliance of adventurers and dragons following a series of disasters, the valley and its protective walls are strong enough to keep out even the most fearsome beasts. When a strange disease begins to spread between the dragons of the valley, threatening to end the power flowing through Kerrianth, you find yourself among the few selected to find a cure before it's too late. Between navigating treacherous politics in the valley, repairing and piloting an abandoned airship, and facing the wilderness beyond the walls, will you be able to save the dragons before life as you know it grinds to a halt? In this high fantasy, steampunk campaign, players can expect heavy roleplay, challenging combat, and unique puzzles while their characters bond with dragons, uncover the dubious origins of Kerrianth, and venture into the dangerous world outside the valley. This campaign will use the 2014 version of Dungeons and Dragons 5e, and it is perfect for players of any experience level.

As a heavy silence fills the room, you examine the choices laid before you. Your heart begins to race with the certainty that, after this selection, endless adventure awaits. Hello, and welcome! I am Alice (they/them), and in the 8 years that I have been DMing, I have gotten to lead players across a variety of worlds, from the stormy seas and monstrous caves of DND to the non-stop chaos of Cyberpunk's Night City. As a long-time DM and professional folklorist, I love collaborating with my players to tell epic, action-packed stories with lots of opportunity for roleplay and adventure.

Creating your character
We will create characters together during our Session Zero using D&D Beyond. Players will be provided with a campaign link during the session, so that they can access content from the many source books I own on the website. Characters will start at Level 1, and players should plan to create characters using the 2014 5e rules (with some flexibility based on player preference and DM discretion). In addition to creating the character sheet in D&D Beyond, we will also use our Session Zero to work together on aspects of character backstory. Players will be provided access to a brief (5 page) world lore document ahead of the session to help with brainstorming character ideas.

What Alice brings to the table
As a DM, my focus is on collaborating with my players to tell an epic story. That means lots of roleplay, dramatic music, customized visuals, and goofy voices on my end so that you have endless opportunities to explore your character and the world around them. While I am happy to teach players the rules/mechanics of DND, I am even happier to bend or break them for a good reason. Since I put overall story and player experience first, I absolutely embrace Rule of Cool! This specific campaign also includes a more in-depth world than some others that I run. Players will be provided a brief (5 page) lore document, and we will work together to help build characters that are incorporated into the world and its lore.
