About the adventure
The Light is all you've known. You've lived inside the cocoon of the human bastion of civilization since the beginning of your existence. Liveria welcomed you, it fed you, it kept you safe from all of the dangers of Naelwelth. This floating island of a city, graced by the elongated dusk bridge that connects it to the expansive Gallant Forest is a home to many and known by all as the more benevolent of the human communities throughout the continent. Within it, peace is law and prosperity is the want - the need even, for progress. The decree of Peace that envelops all who live here was not always as established as it is now, however. You've heard the stories, of course, of the first humans that broke the Unending Sea making their way to the shores. How they were all one people, but got fractured through raging storms, separating their spirit and essence that once had worked as one. It broke them, leaving them with a disembodied God. Yaweh, as they called it, now viscerally torn into 4 distinct parts, made it so that the Humans were not same when they finally landed ashore. They fought for and claimed land that was not theirs to take and then, when they could not claim anymore, they fought amongst themselves to see who would come out on top. As this all settled, Liveria, free from all the fighting, stood still in its irreverence. A great cocoon of invisible magic protected it from all threats - no one could enter without the Kings' say so, with one heinous exception, which is the sole reason why you and the entire city celebrate today. The 5th cycle of January, also known as the Blood Festival, commemorates the victory over the one force ever known to penetrate the cocoon - The Sanguinarius. An order of the ancient heritage of Kithka, firstborn among the races, rogue in its wild barbarism. Wielding forces unknowable, they breached the cocoon without even so much a whisper and bathed the entire city in a sea of blood, murdering for murder's sake. Liveria narrowly escaped extinction. On the 5th cycle of January, King Yca rode the skies above his beloved city and smote the evildoers with the lightning he gathered from the clouds. A desperate act of sacrifice that saved whatever was left... Rebuilt, the city now looks on to better days and hope, but it always remembers. You walk on your way to report to Festivities Master Tella, awaiting your next task. With much on your mind, you recall that this will be the 50th Blood Festival to date. A legacy that carries on, seemingly endless. After turning a left on the Witching Quarter, a common shortcut known to you and yours, you see the unthinkable. The walls are covered in blood and, in the middle of the corridor, a lone figure armed with a dagger in each hand stands. Blood droplets fall from the weapons and take the forms of oddly misshapen stars as gravity pulls them to the ground. What do you do?

About me
Howdys and Salutations! I've been playing D&D since the death throes of 3.5, skipped 4th entirely after a break and settled right nicely in the DM chair for 5e ever since Tyranny of Dragons dropped. I've ran and finished multiple online and in-person campaigns, often ending around tier 3 play (level 14). To get a good picture of what my games look like, imagine fun as a core concept — that's me! All I do is in the name of the collective fun for the whole table. I view TTRPGS in essence as an exercise to break out from constrained systems to do ridiculous stuff like, oh, I dunno, befriending the green dragon in Thundertree through carefully and tactfully putting the cursed helm of opposite alignment on it — he became a real softie after that! One rule I always abide by - mistakes, of any kind, are an opportunity to be creative and to do something fun and often hilarious. You regret your frail level 1 PC ran confidently into a pack of goblins, rolling poorly on that persuasion check? No problem. This does not mean death. Well, not necessarily anyway. It might, but it might also be another opportunity to pitch them that lucrative moonshine business you've been going on and on about lately. I wouldn't blame you, it's a neat idea. Anyways, happy to share the wonders of RPGs with you and create lasting memories that'll hopefully be sung about for years to come. Toodly-Doodly! (It's 'see you soon' in goblin, I promise.)

Creating your character
Character Creation will happen in foundry after an individual session 0 has been conducted between me and yourself :)! We can create your character in the system itself or we can use pathbuilder as a resource to help you bring your concept to life!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a solid internet connection, a clear way to communicate via discord voice chat and a webcam, although the later is really optional. I will definitely show my lovely face, but you don't have to! Whatever is comfortable for you :)!
