About the adventure
The mortal realm has fallen under a sudden and unsettling claim. Without warning or war, the Shadow Fey announce their rule, backed by ancient power and a sense of unquestionable superiority. Something has shifted between worlds, and the veil separating the mortal lands from the Shadow Courts grows thinner by the day. To save what remains, you must cross into the Shadow Fey realm, a place of shifting moonlight, living masks, and glittering danger. Here, conversation can cut deeper than any sword and a poorly worded greeting may start a duel. Nothing is simple or safe. Every step deeper into their court brings tangled alliances, strange bargains, whispered curses, and the chance to win powerful favor. Some creatures you meet will be beautiful and captivating. Others will be ancient, silent, and hungry. All of them will be watching. This campaign blends political intrigue, roleplay challenges, and dangerous encounters with the strange logic of the Fey. Players will navigate events such as masquerade balls, formal challenges, secret meetings, forbidden romances, unexpected betrayals, and eerie Fey traditions that defy mortal understanding. Whether your party chooses diplomacy, trickery, brute strength, or clever manipulation, the court will react. Alliances shift, reputations rise or crumble, and your choices will determine whether the mortal world is restored, rewritten, or lost forever.

About me
Hello! I'd like to share with you my deep and profound love of roleplay! I've been playing D&D and other tabletop roll playing games for over 20 years and have been running games almost as long. I am a deep believer in the philosophy of "play to find out what happens". No outcome is predetermined, the players of my games are fully in the driver seat.

Creating your character
Players have the choice of creating their characters in D&D Beyond or in Roll20 proper. Character should be built before the session starts. You'll be starting at level 8. Ability scores will be generated using a modified point buy system. You'll have 30 points instead of the regular 28 and can adjust your stats as high as 17 before modifiers. Use this calculator to assist you, then input the values manually. (https://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html) Ideally I'd like to stick with 2024 content but if there's something from legacy (D&D 2014) that your heart is set on I'm open to discussing that. The campaign has heavy themes of fey, political intrigue and shadow realm influences so incorporating one or more of those themes into character creation would offer a more interesting and seamless integration.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
As stated you should build your character before session start. Feel free to reach out if you need guidance. We will be using voice through Discord, maps and rolling through Roll20 and most of the group manages their character through Dnd Beyond.
What Seb brings to the table
My Gm style melds towards my players inclinations however I typically lean towards having quite a lot of tactical combat, this campaign also incorporates an aspect of political intrigue so roleplay will be important for navigating that. I am no voice actor but do endeavor to add unique voice and flavour to NPC's the party encounters. Generally I stick pretty close to rules as written but am open to pitches working outside those boundaries if it adds to the story and brings a cinematic element.
Homebrew rules
I keep it fairly vanilla. Allies can provide half cover to enemies and if the attack roll hits the value in the range of the bonus offered then there is a chance the attack would hit your ally. It is a small risk but it is a risk nonetheless.

How Seb creates a safe table
There will be a Lines and Veils document which can be edited anonymously by the players. I also offer a sort of X card system. It can be enacted through the VTT but I would encourage players to verbalise their issues if they are comfortable doing so. Alternatively my DM's are open for anything that comes up.
