About the adventure
Welcome to Legacy of the Lost Relic—a campaign of intrigue, discovery, and adventure! This is a story for heroes from all walks of life. Whether you’re brand new to Dungeons & Dragons or looking for a welcoming table to explore your character and the world, you are invited to join a 13-session journey through the legendary realm of Exandria, the setting of Critical Role. Queer, trans, and marginalized players are especially encouraged; this is a space where every story, identity, and imagination is celebrated and respected. The Setting: Exandria is a world of ancient magic, bustling cities, and untamed wilds. Our campaign begins in one of its vibrant heartlands—either the arcane-lit streets of Rosohna in the Kryn Dynasty, or the lively crossroads of Zadash in the Dwendalian Empire. In this land, gods walk in legend, war shapes destinies, and shadows hide secrets longing to be revealed. The Adventure: Dark forces are stirring. Mysterious cults, missing relics, and magical disturbances threaten the balance between rival powers. Each session, your choices will shape the fate of the world and those you care about—will you forge alliances, chase secrets, or challenge ancient evils face-to-face? Expect a balance of roleplay, exploration, and cinematic combat, with a focus on character growth and found family. Sessions are crafted to be welcoming for beginners: Rules are explained as we go, and questions are always encouraged. You don’t have to know anything about Exandria or Critical Role to have fun—just bring your curiosity and creativity! Player Experience: This game is a safe, inclusive space. We use safety tools such as lines & veils, X-card, and open-table discussion to ensure everyone feels comfortable. Collaborative storytelling is at the heart of the campaign—your backstory and character choices matter, and you’ll have opportunities to shine both in and out of combat. If you’re queer, questioning, or just looking for a supportive group to share in adventure, you’ll find a home here. All identities are celebrated, and stories of hope, resilience, and self-discovery are woven into the heart of the campaign. What to Expect: No experience required—new players are very welcome! Help with character creation and rules at every step A focus on creativity, roleplay, and collaborative worldbuilding Respectful, LGBTQ+ friendly, and beginner-friendly environment A rich, living world where your choices truly matter Join us around the virtual table as we journey into the shadows and light of Exandria. What legends will you create?

About me
I’m passionate about collaborative storytelling and have been playing TTRPGs for years, with a main focus on 5e. While most of my experience is in-person, I’m quick to adapt to online play. A favorite memory is using D&D as a teaching tool while homeschooling my kids. Together, we built worlds, explored civilizations, and connected real-world subjects like science, politics, and writing to our adventures. Through roleplay, they learned about governments, economies, and even wrote essays from the perspectives of their characters. It wasn’t the whole curriculum, but it made learning creative and fun.

Creating your character
Session Zero: We’ll create characters together during our first session. If you prefer, you may draft ideas before we meet, but final choices and details can be finished at the table. Level & Starting Equipment: Characters will begin at Level 3, so you have some abilities to start with! Use standard starting equipment and background for your class. Stats: We’ll use the standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) or point buy—your choice. If you’re new, I’ll walk you through both options. Sourcebooks: All official Wizards of the Coast 5e books are allowed (including Tasha’s, Xanathar’s, Monsters of the Multiverse, etc.). If you want to use something from Critical Role sourcebooks (like Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount or Tal’Dorei Reborn), just ask! Limitations: No homebrew or unofficial content, please. Backstory: A short backstory is encouraged but not required. We’ll work together to tie your character into the world and story. Inclusion: All genders, orientations, and concepts are welcome. I’m happy to help bring your ideas to life! I’m here to help at every step—whether you’re brand new or just want a friendly hand with the details. Let me know if you have any questions or access needs!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Discord Account: Please create a free Discord account if you don’t already have one. You’ll receive an invite to the campaign’s Discord server after joining! D&D Beyond Account: Make a free D&D Beyond account (dndbeyond.com). We’ll use D&D Beyond for character sheets and resources. Join the Discord Server: After you sign up, I’ll send you a Discord invite link. Join the server before Session Zero to introduce yourself and get set up. Audio Setup: Make sure you have a working microphone and headphones/earbuds for clear communication. Video is optional. D&D Beyond Character Preparation: If you want, you can start building your character on D&D Beyond ahead of time, but it’s not required—we’ll finalize everything together at Session Zero. Session Reminders: Watch for announcements and session reminders in Discord. Questions Welcome: If you’re new to any of these tools, don’t worry! I’m happy to help you get set up. Just let me know in Discord or by message. That’s it! Once you’ve joined Discord and created your D&D Beyond account, you’re ready for adventure!
What Sachspie brings to the table
When you join my table, you’re stepping into a world of adventure, imagination, and community. Here’s what you can expect from me as your Game Master, and what you’ll find in every session: A Welcoming, Inclusive Space This table is for everyone—especially new players, LGBTQ+ folks, and anyone seeking a safe, respectful, and affirming place to play. I’m dedicated to making sure every player feels seen, supported, and able to express themselves in and out of character. We’ll use session zero and safety tools (like lines & veils and the X-card) to keep our game fun and comfortable for all. Immersive Storytelling Exandria is a living world, filled with vibrant NPCs, mysterious locations, and epic stories. I love descriptive narration and weaving your choices into the plot. Expect a mix of intrigue, heart, humor, and drama. Your character’s background and identity will matter, and you’ll see your actions ripple through the campaign. Cinematic Roleplay & Found Family Vibes Roleplay is a big focus! You’ll have the chance to build relationships, explore your character’s growth, and maybe find a new adventuring family along the way. I encourage collaborative storytelling, character moments, and spotlight time for everyone. Shy or new to roleplay? No problem—I’ll help you ease in and shine at your own pace. Balanced, Accessible Gameplay Whether you love roleplaying, combat, or solving puzzles, you’ll find a bit of everything here. I tailor challenges to fit the party, ensuring everyone gets excited moments regardless of experience or class. I explain rules as we go, so you don’t need any prior knowledge. I embrace the Rule of Cool—if you have a creative idea, I want to make it work (as long as it fits the story and everyone’s having fun). Rules as Written are a baseline, but fun and group comfort always come first. Quality Tools & Support You’ll have access to our dedicated Discord server for scheduling, chat, memes, and sharing art or backstories. We’ll use D&D Beyond for seamless character sheets and resource sharing. I provide recap summaries, digital handouts, and helpful reminders before each session. Need help with mechanics, roleplay, or just feeling included? I’m always available between sessions for questions or support. Atmosphere & Engagement Expect a touch of ambient music and sound effects to set the mood, plus evocative descriptions to bring Exandria to life. Each session ends with a quick debrief, so you can share highlights and feedback. What You Get: • A safe, LGBTQ+ friendly & beginner-welcoming environment • Collaborative storytelling centered on YOU • Rule explanations and support at every step • Cinematic roleplay, tactical combat, and creative challenges • Recaps and resources to keep you in the loop • A community where all are celebrated If you’re looking for adventure, belonging, and a chance to shape your own legend, you’ll find it here. Let’s tell a great story together!
Homebrew rules
Potions as Bonus Actions: You can drink a healing potion on your turn as a bonus action (instead of an action). Milestone Leveling: We’ll level up together at story milestones, not by tracking XP. Flexible Roleplay: Describing creative actions or solutions in combat or roleplay can grant advantage or inspiration. Critical Success/Failure: Natural 1s and 20s on ability checks or skill rolls may have special story effects, not just in combat. Session Zero Safety: We’ll use safety tools (Lines & Veils, X-card) to ensure a safe and fun game for everyone. No complex or confusing house rules—just a few tweaks to keep things fun and flowing!

How Sachspie creates a safe table
Your comfort and well-being are my top priorities. Here’s how I keep our game safe and welcoming for everyone: • Session Zero: Before our campaign begins, we’ll have a Session Zero to discuss expectations, boundaries, and group norms. We’ll talk through Lines and Veils (topics we want to avoid or “fade to black”), character concepts, and what makes everyone feel included and respected. • Safety Tools: We’ll use the X-card, N-card, and O-card as digital tools (you can type “X,” “N,” or “O” in chat or say it aloud at any time). o X-card: Instantly skip or change any content that’s uncomfortable, no questions asked. o N-card: Let me know if something is heading into uncomfortable territory, and we’ll steer away. o O-card: Use this to signal that you’re doing great and happy to continue. • Lines & Veils Document: I’ll share a digital Lines and Veils form before Session Zero, so you can privately list topics you want to avoid. You can update this anytime. • Ongoing Check-Ins: I check in at the start and end of every session (“aftercare”) to see how everyone’s feeling and to gather feedback—either in the group or privately. • Respect & Inclusion: All identities are welcome here. Discrimination, harassment, or hate of any kind is never tolerated. • Open Door Policy: You can always message me privately if you need to discuss anything or step away for any reason. Our goal is a fun, affirming, and safe space where everyone can enjoy the adventure. If you have any additional access or comfort needs, just let me know—I’m happy to accommodate!
