About the adventure

Delta Green is a horror-mystery TTRPG. Using a D100 system, you'll be roleplaying as agents of this secretive agency, second-guessing who you work for and why. You and your teammates will be the only ones to know what you fought against. The monsters that live among us. It's very likely you'll lose a teammate along the way. Maybe yourself. Maybe even your sense of self. How I run Delta Green - like all my games - is with plenty of humor. But Delta Green is distinct in that the horror is ever present, and that by merely being an agent and going on the mission, you've likely doomed your character and those they love. So know, going in, that there is no happy ending. At best, you get back to your life that you had before the mission. If that's even possible. I have access to all the published material, so I can run any of them for a group. Once we have 3 players minimum, we can discuss what feels most appropriate for the group and we'll go from there!

About me

I've always enjoyed the rise and fall, the highs and lows, the victories and defeats, in stories. As a reader and writer as far back as I can remember, I fell into a world and went on an adventure with those characters and then inevitably, a new world would come along and I'd go follow them... Later in life, I became an improviser. The spontaneity of both the creator and the audience to create a similar story was always a thrill. TTRPGs, for me, feel very similar. Whether as player or GM, we are telling an improvised story together. We are creating it as we go and who knows what'll happen! It, for me, is a pure exercise in storytelling. Let's create a story together!

Character creation

Creating your character

We will have a Session 0 to create our Agents. If you have ideas or want to work on something beforehand, by all means, but don't lock anything in until we meet as a group. I'm also always available for questions in advance and during!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I use Zoom for audio and video and Roll20 for your sheets and reference material.

What Chris McGowan brings to the table

I am a roleplay-centric GM. "Delta Green" is relatively rules-light, in my opinion, so I tend to lean on those when we're unsure how things turn out. Combat is deadly in this game, and rare, so keep that in mind. The focus is the characters, the story, and how to resolve whatever is going on. I definitely will use voices and engage in scenes with your character. I also always aim for a nice balance each session - if we can laugh, get scared and have a few thrills and even a "WTF!" moment, I consider that a success. I aim to leave you feeling like you had a great time with each session, but just remember that "Delta Green" is intense at times and is truly a horror game, where a happy conclusion is very very rare. I will definitely be upfront about themes as best I can and will have safety tools for our use.

How Chris McGowan creates a safe table

I use the X, N and O tool. We will discuss in advance and during Session 0 about the mystery content as well as potential troubling things that will come up.
