About the adventure

We'll be playing the new Rapture Protocol cinematic scenario by Free League. No experience of the RPG system is required but some familiarity with Alien or science fiction tropes may help. It's best played with 3 to 5 players aged 18 and above. It will take three or four sessions to complete. This adventure is set in the year 2185, five years after the events at Hadley’s Hope (the second film), and a year after Robert Morse’s infamous book Space Beast made its way through known space.

About me

43, Scot, he/him. I began running and playing RPGs in 1997. I've run hundreds of games online, in person and at cons. I put in a lot of prep for games in Foundry: character art, music, maps, short films. If you've played Coriolis "Last Flight of the Ghazali" or Delta Green "Last Things Last" and "Impossible Landscapes", you may have seen my community maps in use.

Character creation

Creating your character

There will be a short Session 0 to go over the pre-generated characters provided by the module author, go over rules, ask questions about the system, and run through what players do/do not want from their space horror. The session zero can be a free standalone before the first session, or added to play time before the first session.

The current party

There are five pregen characters, all fulfilling aspects of a working Weyland Yutani cargo crew.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Mic will be needed, computer or tablet able to run Foundry VTT in a web interface.

What Richard brings to the table

My games are long on detective work with short, decisive combat that won't always be the best solution to any problem. There will be lots of time to devote to making sure all the players interact with the world and each other. I will change mannerisms for NPCs with some character voices where easily intelligible for players. I have the full suite of Alien goodies for Foundry, with tokens, rollable tables, maps and funky dice. I've run this module three times since it was released and am a big Alien fan.

Homebrew rules

Initiative resets every combat round to keep things fresh. We will use classic rules for panic, but PCs will only test once per combat to avoid stress loops.
