About the adventure

In this original system by John Harper (of "Lasers and Feelings" and "Blades in the Dark" fame), you will embark on a steampunk spacefaring adventure to escort the noble Lady Blackbird from a horrible arranged marriage and across the galaxy to her secret lover, the pirate king himself! You'll need to escape capture aboard an imperial vessel, navigate across space and find the hidden lair of the pirate king to reunite them. Lady Blackbird uses a d6 pool system where you'll seek a number of successes based on the difficulty of the task. We'll lean heavily on improvisation and roleplay to create a wholly custom scenario from the foundation we've been provided, where each visit to this world is a unique and interesting take on the narrative. Will you be able to reunite the lost lovers? Is the pirate king still interested in the wayward noblewoman Lady Blackbird? Will the imperial forces hinder the attempt? Or might you encounter other spacefaring scoundrels along the way?
