About the adventure

Rise of the Drow: Forgotten Realms Edition (5e 2024) The frontier town of Quaervarr, nestled on the edge of the Moonwood, has long endured as a modest but proud settlement of trappers, hunters, and wanderers. Though small compared to the great cities of the North, it stands as a vital outpost between wilderness and civilization. Yet beneath its foundations, in the endless caverns of the Underdark, shadows stir. The drow—long exiled from the surface—are weaving a plan that could shatter the balance of the realms. Whispers speak of raids on border villages, strange alliances with monstrous forces, and a growing tide of darkness that threatens to spill upward. Many dismiss these rumors as old tales of elven feuds, but those who listen closely know the truth: the drow are rising, and their ambitions reach far beyond the Underdark. As adventurers, you are drawn into this conflict at its earliest sparks. Perhaps you are defenders of Quaervarr, mercenaries chasing coin, scholars seeking forbidden lore, or wanderers caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whatever your origin, your choices will shape the fate of the North. The campaign begins with small skirmishes and mysteries—villages under attack, missing caravans, and strange symbols carved into stone. But soon, the scope widens: you will uncover plots of infiltration, dark cults, and ancient powers buried deep below. The drow are not a single enemy but a fractured society of houses, priestesses, and warlords, each with their own schemes. Some may be bargained with; others will stop at nothing to see the surface burn. Expect to face: • Underdark exploration filled with peril, wonder, and alien beauty. • Faction intrigue, where alliances can be forged or broken with a single word. • Epic battles against drow warbands, monstrous allies, and creatures born of shadow. • Moral dilemmas, as you decide whether to fight darkness with light—or embrace shadow to survive. The tone of the campaign blends frontier survival with dark intrigue and high fantasy heroism. Every torch you carry into the Underdark pushes back the void, but every step deeper risks corruption, betrayal, or worse. Ultimately, the question is not just whether you can stop the drow uprising, but whether you can endure the journey. Will you emerge as champions of Quaervarr, scarred survivors, or something darker altogether? The Forgotten Realms adaptation ties the adventure directly into the lore of Faerûn, grounding the threat in familiar places and factions. Your actions will ripple across the Silver Marches, shaping the destiny of Quaervarr, the Moonwood, and perhaps the entire realm. Prepare to descend. Prepare to rise. The Underdark awaits.

About me

A lifelong devotee of Dungeons & Dragons since the early days of 1980, I’ve worn every hat the game offers—player, storyteller, worldbuilder, and Dungeon Master. My tables are built on a foundation of rules, but they’re elevated by the rule of cool: if it’s cinematic, clever, or just plain awesome, it deserves a place in the story.

What Mike brings to the table

• Official D&D content for character creation • Focus on your character's story, weaving it seamlessly into the world • An ability to craft designer plots for you and your playstyles • Full control of narrative momentum; how do you want to do this? • Though I don’t specialize in character voices, I champion immersive roleplay and reward players who bring emotional depth, bold choices, and memorable moments to the table. Gold and magic items may flow, but the true treasures are custom feats, homebrew boons, and narrative rewards tailored to the player’s journey. • Critical Hits (the Perkins Crit system): You maximize the normal damage and roll the critical damage.
