About the adventure

Set generations before the age of Aang, this Avatar Legends campaign focuses on the human side of imbalance—crime, corruption, and power rooted in tradition. A wealthy earthbending noble has carved out influence through trade, force, and fear, hiding criminal networks behind respectability. The world at large remains stable, but cracks are forming beneath the surface. Players will confront this rising power through investigation, alliances, and direct action. You might expose smuggling routes, negotiate with spirits disturbed by reckless bending, or survive clashes with elite enforcers who bend the ground itself into weapons. The conflict is personal, political, and dangerous—victory won through persistence rather than destiny. This adventure takes place outside the main eras of Avatar: Legends—before Aang, before Kyoshi, even before Yangchen. This gives us the freedom to tell our own story without relying on known characters or events, while still including subtle nods to Avatar canon. Legendary heroes and famous locations remain in the background; instead, the focus is on how ordinary people—benders and nonbenders alike—shape history through their choices, sacrifices, and beliefs. Every character matters. Expect a game with moral gray areas, grounded threats, and meaningful consequences, where traditions protect the powerful and change comes at a cost. This is a story about pressure, patience, and what happens when the ground finally gives way.

About me

Hello! As you can tell by the number of games I have hosted, that I am not new to GMing and in fact have been doing it for 6 years now. Being a GM is an awesome experience where I get to shape a narrative with a group of people in a fun and exciting way. For me personally, creating a welcoming environment for new players and veterans alike, where they start as strangers, and then enjoy each other's company while telling a story together, is unmatched.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll create our characters together at session zero. I have all sourcebooks released so far. We should be able to create amazing characters together.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I plan to run this game on Foundry. Players don't need an account. We will be using Discord for voice chat so it is required that players have a mic. Players do not need prior experience or knowledge of the rules.

What Franky Von brings to the table

We are playing online, so I will provide digital game components like maps, tokens, etc. If players wish, they can provide an image for me to use for their character portrait and character token. If a player doesn't provide this, I can provide one.

Safety

How Franky Von creates a safe table

The listed content warnings are included as a precaution for themes that already exist in the Avatar world. This game will rarely explore material more intense than what appears in the books and TV shows it’s based on, and when it does, content will be kept at a PG-13 level. We will have a session zero that will go over everyone's expectations and desires for the campaign. We'll touch on what to expect as well as things to avoid. If for any reason a player needs to step away or remove themselves, we will be utilizing the safety measures of Open Door and X, N, & O Cards. Open Door is simply to empower the player to step away and rejoin (or leave if necessary) whenever they need to for any reason, no questions asked. X, N, & O Cards function as an indicators to me (the GM) when subject matter arises which causes discomfort to the point it disrupts your experience, you can utilized X, N, & O in the following ways: X: Place an X in the chat to let me know you are uncomfortable with the current content, often resulting in a change, rewind, or skip of the aforementioned content. N: Placing an N in the chat lets me know that you feel the content is heading towards an X card, often resulting in a change or a “fade to back”. O: An O in the chat is a check-in card, where I will stop and check with the entire group to ensure that everyone is comfortable continuing with the content.
