About the adventure
In this metropolis, legends walk unseen, hidden by the Mist. You are a Rift—a person imbued with the essence of a myth or legend—struggling to balance your ordinary life with extraordinary powers. Together, you form All-Seeing Eye Investigations, a private detective agency that tackles supernatural cases the rest of the city ignores. Shark Tank is a gritty City of Mist starter case set in Miller’s Square, a struggling neighborhood being crushed by loan sharks and quiet fear. At first glance, it’s ordinary organized crime. The deeper you dig, the more wrong it feels. This game is great for new City of Mist players and anyone who enjoys noir mysteries, roleplay-heavy sessions, and supernatural drama. If you like detective stories where power always has a cost, this table is for you. ------------- ONE IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TABLE EXPECTATIONS This is a roleplay-heavy, collaborative game. Investigation, character interaction, and player-driven choices are at the heart of City of Mist, and the story moves forward when everyone actively participates. I’ll guide the narrative, ask questions, and help spotlight characters, but this isn’t a passive or spectator-style table. Players are expected to speak up, pursue leads, make decisions, and engage with the world and each other. You don’t need to be loud or performative of course, but you do need to be proactive and comfortable roleplaying (or at least want to grow in roleplay). This table works best when everyone contributes and shares the spotlight. If you usually prefer to hang back, wait to be prompted, or observe more than engage, this may not be the right fit, and that’s totally okay. My goal is to create a table where all players are equally invested and moving the story forward together.

About me
Hey I'm Maia (my-ee-uh), a storyteller, actual play producer, and longtime lover of narrative-driven games. I found TTRPGS a few years ago and immediately fell in love with how collaborative, emotional, and unpredictable they can be. I've been GMing ever since-building immersive worlds, guiding personal arcs, and chasing those unforgettable table moments that happen when a group really clicks. In addition to private campaigns, I also create and publish actual plays, both live streamed and edited, on Twitch, YouTube, and podcast platforms. Producing those shows has sharpened my sense of pacing, tone, and scene work, and I bring that same care to every table I run, whether we're recording or just playing for fun privately.

Creating your character
This game uses pre-generated characters from the City of Mist Starter Set. You’ll choose from a curated cast designed specifically for the Shark Tank case, each with clear abilities, motivations, and story hooks tied to the mystery. Once all players have joined the campaign, the available pregens will be shared ahead of time so everyone can review their options. During Session 0, we’ll walk through the characters together, go deeper into their themes and abilities, and make final selections as a group.
