About the adventure

You serve The Black Ledger cult. The Black Ledger is a sentient artifact that assigns missions and claims the souls of those who fail it. You answer to The Overseer, a fallen paragon whose faith in flawed justice led them to embrace The Ledger and dismantle the rotten systems keeping the world in stable in hopes of replacing it with his own. In The Black Ledger, you are antiheroes to some and villains to others. You are the chosen elite operatives entrusted with reshaping the world through shadow, sabotage, and even force. You will play a pivotal hand in the growth of your small but might cult into a force that shakes the realm. Combat, political intrigue, integrated character backstories and insidious plots should be expected! Tell me adventurer, what role will you play in setting the world asunder? 😈 Level 1 to 13 😈 2024 + 2014 Characters allowed 😈 Dedicated Artwork to be captivated by 😈 Music to set the atmosphere. 😈 Dynamic encounters that adds to story beats. 😈 Be the bad guy for a change!

About me

I can't stress enough how much I adore this game and the opportunity to play it with people, and hopefully you. I’m not a rule-heavy GM. To me, the rules are a shared understanding between players and DM so we can build something memorable together. What matters most at my table is collaboration, strategy, and understanding that this is a game meant to allow players to bring their full selves however that may be. My games are built for players who want dynamic gameplay. If you’re here for strategy, atmosphere, laughter, creative problem solving, and community then you’ll feel right at home. I believe comedy is one of the most powerful storytelling tools we have. The hilarious, chaotic moments make the emotional beats hit harder so expect to meet some wacky NPCs and feel like you can create that weird player you have been keeping on the back burner.I love giving players room to feel powerful while telling the story of who their characters truly are. I’ve always loved games, but when I discovered D&D, something clicked. And when I started DMing, my love grew even deeper for this game. I fell in love with it completely. Above all, my table is inclusive. Everyone deserves a space to feel safe, creative, and excited to play. *If you bring a friend or family member into my campaigns with you then you both get first session free!*

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created before your first session. I am available to answer any questions and make sure everyone is comfortable and has their character ready. Backstories should be written before session 1 as well. Always happy to hop on a call for a session 0 and breakdown of the world.

The current party

Party is level 5. Druid, Barbarian, Artificer, Wizard.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a D&D Beyond account, and a Discord Account. A decent mic, headset and computer are also required. Other than that there is nothing players need to bring with them to session.

What Pharoah brings to the table

I provide a collection on D&D Beyond which gives the players in my campaigns access to all of that content. Foundry VTT a powerful software with dynamic lighting and special effects capabilities.

Homebrew rules

😈 Potions: It is a bonus action to swig a potion. 😈 Flanking: Provides advantage 😈 Critical Hits: Critical hits cause the damage on the dice to be doubled instead of rolling extra dice. 😈 Critical failures and Critical Successes: If a roll results in a natural 1, it is considered a failure. On the other hand, if the roll is a natural 20, it is always a success and may also have additional benefits, which are determined by me. 😈 Death Saves: Death saving throws are done privately. 😈 Stealth Outside Combat: Players make (Dexterity) Stealth rolls only when someone is in a position to see them or look for them. 😈 Investigation Checks For Traps: When searching for traps, the person checking will roll a check once and continue to use that result until a trap is found in order to avoid constantly rolling.

Safety

How Pharoah creates a safe table

This campaign is designed for players who enjoy dark fantasy with a sense of fun, similar in tone to Escape from the Bloodkeep or the game Overlord — where you play powerful, morally gray (or outright villainous) characters navigating a dangerous world that pushes back hard. A typical session begins with everyone logging into D&D Beyond, joining Discord, and then entering the Foundry VTT. Once everyone is ready, we jump straight into the action. Exploration, role-play, and combat are all major pillars of the game, with a strong emphasis on immersion and momentum. I run games with a healthy mix of serious and lighthearted moments. The story and stakes are real, but there is absolutely room for humor, personality, and character-driven chaos when it fits the scene. You can expect a highly immersive experience: Detailed maps and animated scenes wherever possible Clear narrative descriptions of environments and events Strong NPC roleplay, supported by voice acting and voice modulation Character death is a real possibility, especially at lower levels. I do not pull punches, and I let the dice fall where they may. Some threats will be manageable, others overwhelming — knowing when to fight, flee, or adapt is part of the game. This approach creates tension, adrenaline, and a world that feels alive rather than scaled perfectly for player comfort. I expect players to: Be on time and ready to play Stay for the full session unless an emergency arises Remain in character as much as possible Avoid metagaming This is a mature campaign, and difficult themes may arise naturally through the story. That said, player comfort matters. If there are any specific topics or boundaries you would like to avoid, you are encouraged to message me privately at any time. I use safety tools such as Lines & Veils and an Open Door policy to ensure everyone feels respected and safe at the table. There will be a 10-minute break around the midpoint of each session for snacks, drinks, and bio breaks. This game rewards engagement, creativity, and commitment with a custom points system for major boons. if you’re excited to lean into a high stakes story where your choices rip the world apart then you’ll feel right at home here.
