About the adventure
In the shadow of Mount Hotenow’s lingering scars, Neverwinter teeters on the edge of total collapse. Lord Protector Dagult Neverember lies dead from a “mysterious illness,” and his cunning young widow Eregia has seized the ancient Alagondar throne. Riots rage across the city, factions clash in the streets, sewers swarm with wererats, and plague whispers rise from the Chasm. The Jewel of the North is burning. You’ve already made your mark: You slew the child-thief crime lord Gaedren Lamm and returned the queen’s stolen brooch. You joined the Neverwinter Guard as mercenary agents under Captain-General Valeria Thorne. You hunted down the deserter Verik Vancaskerkin and his cannibalistic “Cow Hammer Boys” in riot-torn Blacklake. Now the stakes have risen. Valeria has tasked you with a dangerous new mission: assault Eel’s Wake, the floating criminal empire ruled by the notorious wererat pirate lord Devargo Vex — the self-styled King of Spiders. The entire complex of barges is currently under attack, and the fate of Neverwinter may hinge on whether you can bring the King of Spiders down before his web of blackmail and vice tightens around the throne. This is an ongoing Level 3–20 epic campaign (a full 5e/2024 adaptation of Pathfinder’s Curse of the Crimson Throne) set in the heart of Neverwinter. Expect gritty urban intrigue, brutal faction warfare, plague horrors, haunted delves, ship combat on the river, and world-shaking revelations. Moral gray choices, player-driven plots, and kingdom-building lite await. We are an established group currently in the middle of the Eel’s Wake assault arc. New players are welcome to jump in right now — your character will be seamlessly integrated into the ongoing story.

Creating your character
This campaign has dozens of custom classes, species, archtypes, backgrounds, feats, spells, etc. All of which are available on my Discord server for all players. We will discuss character creation options once you have signed up and had a chance to browse the discord a bit.

Preparing for the session
You will need the following: ✦ Fantasy Grounds Unity installed and operational. ✦ Discord, installed and ready to use for voice. ✦ Proper Quality Mic with headset. ✦ High Speed Internet Connection. I do not live stream or record any sessions without prior player consent.

Homebrew rules
Initiative: We reroll imitative every round of combat, this is handled directly by Fantasy Grounds. Morale: Creatures make morale checks when faced with overwhelming odds and might flee the battle. Delay Turn: When it is your turn in a round you can opt to act later in the round by declaring a lower initiative. Emanation Effects: Once per round damage is the maximum. Skill/Knowledge Checks: You must be proficient in a knowledge or tool to use it. Critical Hits: On a critical hit, the damage is maximum damage plus another die roll instead of doubling dice. Potions of Healing: Using an action to consume a Potion of Healing grants its user the maximum number of recovered hit points. If using a bonus action to consume the healing potion, roll for results. It is a bonus action to drink a potion but still requires a regular action to administer one to someone else. Flanking: When a creature and at least one of its allies are adjacent to an enemy and positioned on opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, they flank that enemy. Attack rolls made by flankers against a flanked enemy have a +2 bonus. A creature does not grant flanking bonus if it is incapacitated, frightened, restrained, or grappled.
