About the adventure
A whiteout hits without warning. A roaring wall of snow that swallows the HMS Tempest whole. One moment, she sails beside her sister ship; the next, she’s simply gone. Devoured. Now, the HMS Peregrine is stranded in a labyrinth of shifting ice, dwindling rations, and deadly cold. Desperate rescue parties chase flickering distress signals across the frozen horizon… while something ancient and impossible stalks the tundra. As supplies run low and reality thins, the crew’s path bends toward a strange shape rising from the ice, a structure with no name in any human language. Reaching it may be their only chance of salvation… or cost more than anyone is willing to pay. Join me for a heart-pounding descent into isolation, dread, and impossible choices at the edge of the world. Will you save your shipmates? Or yourself? Or will the ice claim you, like so many before?

About me
Hi! Welcome, stranger and potential friend! I know your time is valuable, so I'll start with The Most Important Thing: I work hard to make my games as safe and inclusive as possible. I've had the experience of being The Only Girl at the Table. In a game featuring vampires and other supernatural creatures, I've been told that I can't play a warrior or a scholar because that's "not realistic." I've had the experience of playing in games where the only female NPCs were barmaids. I've also been queerbaited and/or played in games that only featured same sex relationships as fantasies for the rest of the players or as punchlines. It's my goal to make my games the EXACT OPPOSITE of those experiences by creating an environment where marginalized players can be themselves and see themselves in the games they play. My adventure in the wild world of professional GMing began with a misfortune. I was on the path to being a lifelong academic when I caught Covid during the first wave. I was seriously ill. I spent a great deal of time in bed and a great deal of time recovering. Those long, empty days gave me a lot of time to think about my major life decisions. Ultimately, it was this self-examination that led me here! Needless to say, my fun with TTRPGs began well before my foray into academia. I started playing Vampire the Masquerade when I was only 13 years old! I ran my first VtM game shortly after I became a player. In addition to VtM, I've been both player and storyteller for Werewolf, Changeling, Hunter, and Wraith- with a little D&D and Monster of the Week sprinkled in for good measure. I'm also a lifelong horror fan. When I'm not consuming horror via film, I like to read EC comics and bad horror/pulp novels! I've linked my IG and my Discord, so come hang out with me on the socials!

Creating your character
Character creation begins in Session 0, where we’ll build your team concept together. After that, you’ll create your investigator using the core book’s standard rules, with full Keeper support if you need help. Players joining after Session 0 should review the existing group concept and create a character who fits smoothly into the team dynamic.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
What You’ll Need _________________________________________________ * A free Roll20 account (for maps, handouts, character sheets, and safety tools) * Discord (for voice chat and all game communication) * A stable internet connection and a clear microphone * A quiet space where you can speak freely (headphones recommended) * You do not need any Call of Cthulhu books. All essential rules and references will be provided, but the core player book is highly recommended. Steps to Take Before You Play __________________________________________________ 1. Join the Discord server. You’ll receive the invite link after signing up. 2. Complete the onboarding process. This unlocks your player channels, scenario resources, and access to handouts. 3. Think about your investigator concept. Before Session 0, consider: * the kind of character you’d enjoy playing * their background or skill focus * your comfort levels with horror * any Lines & Veils you may want to set (You do not need a completed sheet; just ideas.) 4. Join the Roll20 VTT when the link is posted. This is where dice are rolled and your character sheet lives, in addition to info about key NPCs and plot beats. 5. Attend Session 0. We’ll finalize the team concept, establish safety tools, and set tone and expectations for the scenario. 6. After Session 0: Create your Investigator. You’ll build your character using the Keeper’s QuickFire method and instructions, ensuring a cohesive, well-balanced party tailored to the scenario. 7. If you’re joining after Session 0… You’ll complete an Observation/Orientation session to ensure the table is a good fit for your needs and to review safety tools and party dynamics.

How Byrne Baby Byrne creates a safe table
Your emotional safety is a priority at my table. We begin with a Session 0 where we establish Lines and Veils, review table tone, and discuss comfort levels for horror, gore, paranoia, and isolation themes. I use digital X, N, and O cards embedded directly in Roll20 so players can signal discomfort quietly and immediately at any time. Safety tools are always honored without question or explanation. We will also cover bleed, debriefing, and aftercare, ensuring every player leaves the session feeling grounded and supported, which is especially important in atmospheric or psychological horror. Players joining after Session 0 will receive a written safety handout on the VTT and a quick safety onboarding before play. Horror should be thrilling, never harmful.
