About the adventure
Several months ago, ancient Elvish gates came to life after being dormant for centuries. You along with many others seen what you most desired and stepped through the gates and vanished from the world for a few months. Upon returning you have no memory of where you have been, new powers, a strange mark on your body, and no recollection of what you did or where you were for those months. Dr. Etward Ritalson gathered these "Gatewalkers" together and formed the Illuminated Consortium of Epopts. You are a member of this group and are tasked with investigating the "Missing Moment".

About me
I have had a lifetime of interest in Dungeons and Dragons going back to the 90s as a teenager but didn't know where to go to play. Years later in 2021 I decided to look it up and found out how easy it was to get started with 5th edition. A year later I started GM-ing. My first campaign was a homebrew story. After that I started running published works. In 2024 I started Gm-ing Pathfinder 2nd edition. I am currently runnning 2 different in person D&D groups and looking to expand more into the professional realm. I love the idea of fantasy and magic in a medieval setting. I am lenient when it comes to the rules and have a few of my own for my tables. I am also as indicated by my name a Trekkie, but not exclusive as I enjoy Star Wars as well. My free time is usually spending time playing games, re-learning how to make them, and watching movies. The re-learning part is in regards to the fact I do have an Associates Degree in Game Design, but am severely out of practice and relearning those skills. I am open to all walks of life and expect my players to be as well. I will not put up with slurs or discrimination at my tables.

Creating your character
We will have a session 0 to go over character creation on Fantasy Grounds. For ability scores either you use the standard array with 4 boosts after your Ancestry, Background, and Class boosts, or use the roll 4d6 and drop the lowest rule. 1s can be rerolled and if you have multiple 2s they can be rolled once more. I do not limit my players on what they can use for feats, other than they have to be from officially published Paizo books.
Plan for session 0 to be January 2nd. Player Characters will start at level 1.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need access to Discord for communication with a mic. This format is good for discussing before, during, and after game sessions. When you join I will provide a copy of the Players Guide. You can find rules for Pathfinder 2e here: https://2e.aonprd.com/ I am always open and willing to help new players learn the rules as we play. Players will also need to download and install Fantasy Grounds which is now free to play. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/home/FantasyGroundsUnity.php
What Billy brings to the table
I will do my best to provide character voices for the NPCs you encounter. I am a bit loose on the rules, though at times I will stop to look something up. This game is a collaboration between the player and the GM and as such am open to suggestions. I also make some modifications to the story based off of your actions.
Homebrew rules
Each player gets 1 Hero Point at the start of the session. In general Hero Points don't stack. In my campaign each player may have up to 3 Hero Points. Reroll: Spend 1 Hero Point to reroll a check and use the second result. This is a fortune effect. Cheat Death: A character can spend 2 hero points to cheat death. How this plays out is up to the GM, but generally the character is left alive, with negative hit points but stable. Cheating death is the only way for a character to spend more than 1 hero point in a turn. The character can spend hero points in this way to prevent the death of a familiar, animal companion, eidolon, or special mount, but not another character or NPC. Act Out of Turn: You can spend a hero point to take your turn immediately. Treat this as a readied action, moving your initiative to just before the currently acting creature. You may only take a move or a standard action on this turn. Bonus: If used before a roll is made, a hero point grants you a +8 luck bonus to any one d20 roll. If used after a roll is made, this bonus is reduced to +4. You can use a hero point to grant this bonus to another character, as long as you are in the same location and your character can reasonably affect the outcome of the roll (such as distracting a monster, shouting words of encouragement, or otherwise aiding another with the check). Hero Points spent to aid another character grant only half the listed bonus (+4 before the roll, +2 after the roll). Recall: You can spend a hero point to recall a spell you have already cast or to gain another use of a special ability that is otherwise limited. This should only be used on spells and abilities possessed by your character that recharge on a daily basis. Inspiration: If you feel stuck at one point in the adventure, you can spend a hero point and petition the GM for a hint about what to do next. If the GM feels that there is no information to be gained, the hero point is not spent. I also believe that Drinking a potion is a bonus action. You do not have to roll on health potions, but gain the maximum allowed healing from them. The exception to this rule is if you were to pour it in a manner that not all of it would end up in your mouth (such as tilting your head back and having it more than a few inches from your mouth), you pour it on an open wound, or pour it down an unconscious persons throat. For critical damage I follow as Paizo has published which states you double your damage. For the sake of being a collaboration we can discuss if that is rolling your damage dice once and doubling that roll or roll your damage dice twice at session 0.

How Billy creates a safe table
For the Lines and VeilsI have a series of emojis on a Safety Tools channel on discord to be used to convey topics you're not comfortable with, hard limits, soft limits. There will also be a X, N, & O tool to use on Fantasy Grounds to send me anonymously. These will be discussed as session 0.
