About the adventure
Time passes and entropy devours, the life giving forces of the universe often give way to death and decay through various means. One of those has come for your world as strange meteor showers streak across the night skies. These are only a precursor to the apocalyptic event that will endanger the planet you call home. By a stroke of luck you are saved and exposed to a reality far beyond the mundane life you held before. Your eyes will be opened to a vast universe of interstellar travelers and space sailors, one that might have the key to saving that home, as well as those who wish to destroy it. This is an entry for Spelljammer as the characters come to terms with leaving their homeworld and being exposed to the conflicts of the greater Spelljammer sphere. Light of Xaryxis is a shorter campaign which should see characters Levelling from 5-8 or so. Doing so involves several linked locations, asteroid cities and floating islands, conflict with space vampires and alien beings, some exploration of the greater universe as the players discover and deal with various threats and problems while staying alive and saving the world! Session 0 will commence once 4-5 players are incorporated. Characters should have a connection to their material world or a reason to solve the Xaryxis conflict. Additional players are welcome to join afterwards as well as this campaign does incorporate character hooks providing new players or characters a reason to join.

About me
Hello to one and hello to all. Fantasy has a way of immersing us within it the same way we consume those stories it shares. I have been playing or running RPG games off and on during the past three decades. Throughout various systems and new versions there always seems something new to learn or a way to grow. I have experience running with established campaign settings and full homebrew content as well. Whether it is a pre-written adventure, a custom modular campaign or an open ended journey full of discovery and exploration; I can provide as storyteller and gamemaster. I believe that gaming is about having fun, for yourself and with those you play with. If a player wants to do something, I try to say yes and figure out a way to make it work. Because of this I try to provide a flexible foundation for collaborative storytelling between players and the challenges they face. First and foremost in my games is the story and how the player characters fit within it-interacting with each other or NPCs. Combat and dice rolling is secondary but still creates the framework within which the story is told.

Creating your character
This game starts with characters as established adventurers of 5th level. Additional game rules will have the potential to be introduced during Session 0. Players will also use this session to establish the balance of power in regards to attributes and how level ups function. A session 0 also allows the entire group to form ground rules in regards to behavior and vibe for the campaign.

How Stephen Forrest creates a safe table
The narrative of this story involves interaction with various races that enslave, prey and feed upon other species as well as chaos chaos and conflict for the sake of enjoyment. There is no sexual content of any kind within the text as it is written, nor the intended subtext of any scene either. There will be a session 0 to establish basic understanding and comfort about the game. Should anything arise that does provoke concern I encourage an open discussion (in private or as group) and fully intend to prevent any matters which would disrupt the players' enjoyment of the game as a group. If there is another method any player would prefer such as those mentioned in the Safety Toolkit I am willing to work within those parameters that best suit the group as a whole. I fully intend to work with the players to try and achieve a collaborative story that everyone enjoys, within the boundaries established by the dice and rules and narrative text.
