About the adventure
Welcome to Druskenvald, a land stitched together by shadow and wonder, where every province carries its own strange magic; and its own lurking dangers. At the heart of this campaign lies the Midnight Coven, a cabal of witches whose plots threaten to unravel the fragile balance of the realm. Your quest is clear: hunt down each member of the Coven, uncover their schemes, and stop their curse from spreading across Druskenvald. The campaign’s tone is rooted in folk horror, blending eerie folklore, and unsettling landscapes. Players will begin in the swamps of Zulrogg, a place of mist and decay where ancient beasts cry out for salvation. From there, the journey shifts dramatically in theme and tone: one chapter may plunge you into the grotesque beauty of haunted forests, while another whisks you into the whimsical chaos of Picco, a province trapped in the endless revelry of a never-ending circus. Each act promises a new flavor; spooky, surreal, or wondrous, while maintaining the thread of horror that binds the Midnight Coven’s influence. Mechanically, the campaign runs on Dungeons & Dragons 5e, but emphasizes narrative-driven play. Combat is balanced with social intrigue, exploration, and moral choice. Players will encounter a wide selection of unique races and cultures, each tied to Druskenvald’s provinces; giving them the chance to embody characters as strange and vibrant as the lands they traverse. Magical items, Spirit Beasts, and regional customs are woven directly into the story, ensuring that mechanics serve the emotional and thematic arcs. What makes Druskenvald unique is its shifting tapestry of tone and setting. One week you may be navigating eerie swamps with whispers of betrayal, the next you’re laughing uneasily beneath the jeweled masks of Nerukhet's noble houses. The campaign thrives on contrasts: horror and whimsy, intimacy and spectacle, choice and consequence. At its core, it is a story of pursuit and unraveling; a hunt across provinces, where every decision tightens or loosens the threads of Druskenvald’s fate.

About me
With over a decade behind the screen in both online and physical games, I’ve honed a DMing style that’s all about balance, creativity, and player joy. I run fair, PC-focused campaigns where the stakes feel real, but never punishing, and the story bends toward fun, not frustration. Whether you're a battle-hardened adventurer or a first-time dice roller, I make sure the game stays welcoming, flexible, and full of memorable moments. Rules matter, but laughter and storytelling matter more. If you're looking for a campaign that challenges without overwhelming, and celebrates the players at its heart, you've found your DM.

Creating your character
Character creation will be using D&D Beyond and use the Crooked Moon player options which will be available to any player who joins the campaign. Standard Players handbook option will also be available. I will mostly be using the 2024 version of the rules. Starting level will be 5 and use Standard Array for stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Games will be played through a Discord Server for voice chat and use DnD Beyond's VTT.
What Danny brings to the table
While I'm far from a professional voice actor, I do my best at doing character voices. I'll also provide some ambient music through a discord bot. In terms of play style, I balance a fine line between RoC and RaW. I like players to be able to express themselves and their characters action, while avoiding leaning too much into it where it starts to feel like cheating. I'll reward creativity, but I do know how to tell my players "No".
Homebrew rules
Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Optionally, you can use a full action to drink a health potion to get the max amount of healing from the potion.
