About the adventure
Welcome to Nocturne, a Grim Hollow dark fantasy campaign set in the shadow-choked streets of the Ostoyan Empire, a nation ruled by the Crimson Court, a cabal of vampires who have kept the sun hidden for five centuries. The forests writhe with monsters, the cities choke on fear, and survival is a luxury only the powerful can afford. Five years ago, the vampire elite unleashed an intelligence network called Blood Alley to destroy the criminal underworld that once thrived beneath their rule. Their purge wiped out the Black Claws, the heart of Ostoya’s criminal empire, leaving the city in chaos. Now, whispers of rebellion and greed stir once again. In this grim world, you are the founders of a new crew, criminals, smugglers, killers, and outcasts clawing their way toward wealth and vengeance in an empire that bleeds its people dry. This campaign blends crime thriller, gothic horror, and grimdark intrigue. Expect tense heists, desperate deals, and dangerous choices where morality is just another coin to spend. Every decision carries weight, every ally has a secret, and the line between survival and damnation grows thinner with every drop of blood spilled. If you love deep narrative arcs, character-driven storytelling, and moral complexity, this is the table for you. The story adapts to your backstories and choices, your sins will shape the world.

About me
Right, so I need to be honest with you from the start: I'm that GM who gets way too into character voices. Like, embarrassingly into it. My goblin merchant probably sounds more like a drunk uncle than anything threatening, but my players seem to love it, so here we are. I've been running D&D games for 7 years now, started playing when I was 12, and the thing is, I never really stopped being that kid who got absolutely obsessed with this game. It's gotten to the point where my mates joke that I need an intervention, but honestly? D&D helped me figure out who I actually wanted to be as a person. Sounds dramatic, but it's true. Here's what I've learned from running games for all sorts of groups: the best sessions aren't the ones where everything goes to plan. They're the ones where someone does something completely mental, everyone loses it laughing, and suddenly you're all invested in whether Gerald the Bard can actually seduce the dragon (he can't, but watching him try is half the fun). I'm from England, which means I'm chatty as hell in voice chat but somehow turn into an awkward mess meeting strangers in person. Makes no sense, I know. But put me behind a DM screen and I'll talk your ear off about lore, throw voices around, and probably get far too emotionally attached to an NPC you'll inevitably murder. My campaigns tend to be a mix of serious storytelling and absolute chaos, because that's what D&D should be, right? A place where you can be dramatic one minute and laughing until you can't breathe the next. Where you meet people from all over and actually connect over something ridiculous like arguing about what a gelatinous cube tastes like. If you're looking for a GM who takes the story seriously but doesn't take himself seriously, who thinks D&D is better as a conversation than a performance, and who will probably care more about your character's backstory than you do, then let's roll some dice.

Creating your character
Character creation happens one-on-one with the GM before Session 1, using D&D Beyond. We’ll work together to weave your backstory into the living world of Ostoya. Level: 5 System: D&D 5e (2024 Ruleset) Allowed Content: Core Rules + Grim Hollow materials Stats: Point Buy or Standard Array Species & Class: Any, as long as it fits the grim, morally gray tone of the setting Bring me a concept: criminal, revolutionary, monster, or victim and together we’ll forge a legend in the dark.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before playing, please ensure you have: 1. A Discord account (for voice chat and coordination) 2. A D&D Beyond account (for character creation and management) 3. Access to Foundry VTT (our virtual tabletop for maps and combat) Once accepted, you’ll receive links to the campaign Discord and Foundry server. A Session 0 will confirm boundaries, tone, and character hooks.
What Davi brings to the table
I bring cinematic storytelling, immersive character voices, and deeply reactive worldbuilding. Every session balances intense, tactical combat with heavy roleplay and narrative choice. Expect an atmosphere of dread and beauty-haunting soundscapes, dynamic lighting, and NPCs who feel alive. I follow the Rule of Cool where it fits the tone, but keep the tension grounded with meaningful consequences. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re living inside a gothic crime drama written by your own hand, this is that story.

How Davi creates a safe table
Your comfort and agency matter as much as the story. We use: 1. X-Card, Open Door, and Lines & Veils to set clear boundaries 2. Session 0 to discuss tone, expectations, and any content to avoid 3. Private check-ins after intense sessions for debrief and aftercare 4. Digital X/N/O system (via Discord or VTT) to signal in real time if something feels unsafe or if you’d like more or less intensity Nocturne is a dark world, but the table itself will always be a safe and respectful space for every player. That is my goal.
