About the adventure
In the pocket dimension of Three Portlands, the occult, alien, and otherworldy collide. Strange and dangerous things lurk around every corner and the macabre is everyday. Usually, one dead body would not be that grand of an occurance. But something about this body in particular has various factions and powers riled up. And no one can give you a straight answer to why that is. You work for The Unusual Incidents Unit. As a branch of the FBI, it is your duty to investigate and keep the peace. But something about this murder has everyone on edge and the various factions are at each others' throats. What could cause so much trouble? Travel through the various burrows, tracking down leads, and disentangle this strange mystery. Meet with the Sidhe, The Maxwellist movement, the crumbled organization that was once Anderson Robotics, and the infamous SCP Foundation to track down the source of this unrest and tension that is now gripping this strange city.

About me
Hi! My name is Caleb Ince and I have been playing TTRPGs for almost a decade. The first game I ever played was in high school with some friends playing 4th edition and I loved it. A few years later, I got swept up in the 5e craze and now, I have a large group of friends who all love TTRPGs and all who have gm'ed at some point.

Creating your character
There will be pre-generated characters that will be made available. However, if you wish to create your own beforehand that is more than welcome. We will spend a few minutes introducing characters at the beginning of the session. There will be space in the discord to discuss characters and plan prior. Remember that your team is a group from the supernatural unit of the FBI, so any character you build will have to fit that architype in some way. It could be a former MTF operative from the SCP Foundation, or a pencil pusher at the FBI, or even an anomalous person tasked with taking down other anomalies. We will be using the core set of playbooks, though if there is a playbook you are excited about outside of that let me know. I am including a link to the official MotW, form-fillable, character sheets that walk you through character creation. There will also be a link to a quick summary of the gameplay as well as a video going over how to play. https://evilhat.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Monster-of-the-Week-Revised-Playbooks-Formfillable.pdf https://blakewatson.com/journal/monster-of-the-week-game-introduction-and-rules-summary/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMIb__oPvw0

How Caleb creates a safe table
The SCP universe is a dark, twisted, and often disturbing world. I will do my best to alleviate any discomfort despite that as I want to make this an inclusive and fun experience and if you require any accommodations, please feel free to reach out at any time. And if at any point, you need to walk away, or take a break that is welcome. I will send out a Lines and Veils document before the session. Feel free to interface with it as you need to. Additionally, we will use XNO cards during play. There will be a macro on roll20 that you can use freely. If you have any questions about how they work, feel free to ask at any time. You will never have to justify anything you put on the Lines and Veils document, or something you X. Though, I may ask you for clarification on the triggering material before we move on.
