About the adventure
Discover Waterdeep, the city that never sleeps. In this campaign, you will play as newcomers to the fantasy metropolis of Waterdeep. Your will hunt for the greatest treasure the city has ever known. In this scenario you will: đ˛ Uncover lost secrets at the heart of the City. đď¸ Rebuild and run your own city tavern. Some say its haunted. đ¤ Forge alliances and outwit rival factions. This game focuses on solving mysteries and city exploration. My GM style is heavy on roleplay and light on tactical combat. This scenario is a loose adaptation and custom conversion of the D&D module Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. HIGHLIGHTS â¨Learn to play. New system? No problem! I am a patient and passionate teacher. â¨Friendly to all LGBTQ+. I strive for a welcoming and safe table. â¨Immersive atmosphere through background illustrations and music. â¨Human art by real people. No generative AI in sight.

Creating your character
Characters start at level 1. All material from the Core Rulebook and playtest material are fair game. Third party material can be allowed. Ahead of session 0, players should come up with three rough character outlines. For example: A grizzled warrior on a quest for vengeance! A noble mage on the run from their family! A halfling baker seeking the most delicious recipe ever! During Session 0, you will then settle on the character that is the best fit for the campaign and the rest of the party. What to expect
Preparing for the session
âThose of you who havenât played with Alchemy before: it is so cinematic, it is so moody, it is so cool.â â Spencer Stark, Daggerheart creator Alchemy VTT We'll be using a virtual tabletop, specifically Alchemy. Of all the programs to play online, Alchemy might well be the easiest to use and the prettiest to look at. Discord You will need a discord account for communication between games. New to Daggerheart? I'll happily show you the ropes. You can also learn about the Daggerheart basics here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bV2K5eoJgk

Safety
How Peter Sapperlot creates a safe table
The internet is dark and full of terrors. I wish to carve out a tiny enclave of safety and inclusion at my table. During a Session 0 we will address expectations and wishes for the campaign. We will also determine topics or tropes players do not want to encounter in their stories, so called Lines (hard boundaries) and Veils (topics that can be implied, but should not be spotlighted). During weekly sessions I will maintain an Open Door Policy. There wonât be any hard feelings or explanations needed, should you ever wish to step away from the table â temporarily or permanently. Furthermore, Alchemy offers an X-card feature. Leaving is a measure of last resort. Preferably, players use the X-card to indicate when something in the narrative makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. In the middle of every session, there will be short break for everyone to recharge. Before and after every session there will be short check-in, an opportunity for anyone to share how they are holding up â with regards to the game as well as in real life. As a player, I never liked tables where everybody just dashes away after the curtain falls. Sharing, naturally, always remains optional. As part of that aftercare, I will use Stars&Wishes. At the end of each session, players can award a Star to highlight a moment, other player or NPC. I will then encourage everyone to express a Wish, something they would like to see change in future sessions, or an idea they would like to become part of the shared narrative. I strongly believe in trust as the fundamental pillar of any TTRPG table. Without trust creativity canât flourish, let alone any collaborative storytelling. Therefore, I will always strive to be a patient teacher, an attentive listener and an inclusive, non-judgemental host.
