About the adventure

It is 18 years after the derangement of the machines has begun. The once peaceful machines, which would mostly avoid any human interactions, have become more aggressive. Additionally, larger combat-focused machines started to appear, threatening travellers and hunters alike as they protected the other machines from destruction. The derangement led Sun-King Jiran to begin the red raids, spanning out, attacking, and raiding nearby tribes for hostages to sacrifice to their god in hopes of appeasing them and fixing the derangement. It is now a few months after his fall. His followers scattered to the winds, and the new Sun-King Avad tries to mend the wrongs done by his predecessor. Living in this world is harsh. Travel is dangerous as machines and bandits roam the roads. However, many main roads are protected by soldiers and hunters from different tribes. An era of peace begins anew, as relations try to be mended and trade and exchange of knowledge and goods resume. Delvers can scavenge through the ancient and crumbling ruins of the Old Ones to find rare artefacts for trade. This is a series of playtests, in which various mechanics are tested. From Combat, social interactions, trade, crafting, travelling, delving and more. The main spect which needs quite some testing is the balancing of weapons, armour, and costs. The system is based on the videogame series Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. I try to avoid spoilers for the ones which are interested in playing the games.
